My lady seems a little sad.

Hi.
New member here trying dwc for the first time. Have had i few rounds in soil with great success.
Barneys Farm cbd critical cure
2,5 weeks from roots hit water
Nutes Plant Maguc DWC A+B, Plant Magic Enzyme to prevent root rot.
Mixed solution 11L
4 drops household bleach every 36h

Led lights Bridgelux EB2 3500k
28000Lux at 25cm distance

Running in a 5 gallon bucket in a small tent.
air pump 275 lph
Tent temp. 25,5C
water temp. 19,8C
Humidity 65%
Ph 5,8-6,0
EC tap water .4
EC water +nutes 1.3 (.9 nutes. 75% strengt from nute schedule).
Distance water - net cup 5cm

Foil screnn to reflect heat from lights

Now my issues.
I think she looks kind of sad, drooping leaves.
Nu signs of nute burn i think.

Looks like its lite on mag
add epsom salt at 1gr per gallon
raise light up to double the height it is now +
Get a product called hydroguard use at 2ml per gal
use enzyme product till gone dont replace
stop using bleach the hydrguard will take its spot
lower ec a couple of points

Not a hydro guy, cant give much advice except 28000lux is not that much light ime.

Mine are under 40-70K. Not supplementing co2 so 70000K is wasted but some grew out of control, havent seen any adverse effects yet.

Added epsom.
Raised light
I have lowered ec to 60% strenght (EC 1.05)
Hydrogard is no go in EU.

I think 28000 for a plant that size is fine, I think! I use samsung f564b's and I only shoot for about 25,000lux at that age. Even now I'm only using a little over 40,000lux.

any decent microbe product then I recommend the raw brand bloom microbes use in veg and bloom. Enzymes break down the dead roots but without the microbes it isnt available to the plant anyways and the microbes will take care of that instead of enzymes. You can use both but thought the penny saved thing

I agree the light is a little close. Also, I am growing a Kush right now (freebie) and the damn thing always looks droopy. But now I understand that's the way they grow.

I can get my hands on this product.
Would it be ok?

Biosys contains a unique blend of microbes and natural plant growth stimulants. Easy and quick to mix and use, nothing immediately improves the health of your root zone quite like Biosys. Breathe new life into your plants with Biosys — the instant microbial tea from Ecothrive.

Biosys is a concentrated powder that you add to water to make what we call a ‘microbe tea’. It contains some quite complex ingredients that work on a few levels. The microbes in Biosys improve root function, increase nutrient and water availability, help with disease prevention, speed up the breakdown organic matter and improve plant growth. These organisms include;

  • 8 Species of Endo mycorrhizal fungi
  • 8 Species of Bacillus
  • 2 Species of Nitrogen fixing bacteria
  • 2 Species of Pseudomonas
  • 2 Species of Trichoderma
Biosys also contains biological catalysts to allow activation and continued growth of beneficial bacteria and fungi within the root zone – right where you need them. These catalysts that activate and sustain the microbes include humic acids, amino acids, enzymes, proteins, carbohydrates and seaweed extract.

When added to water and applied to root zone, Biosys comes to life quickly to improve the root environment of your crop. Biosys is ideal for use outdoors on open soil, as well as indoors with potting soil, coco, hydroponic growing media (such as rockwool) and even in hydroponic systems with little or no growing media.

Biosys is very suitable to (re)populate, to stimulate and maintain the biological balance in the root zone. Biosys is ideally applied during propagation of seedlings or cuttings, with subsequent applications every 1-2 weeks indoors, and every 4 weeks outdoors. Biosys has a unique action that quickly populates the rhizosphere with a diversity of natural microorganisms to enable your plants to thrive.

Benefits:

  • Biosys contain beneficial bacteria, fungi, enzymes and plant growth stimulants and microbial catalysts all in an easy to use powder!
  • Biosys stimulates rooting of cuttings and promotes both vegetative and generative plant development.
  • Maintains a healthy root zone throughout the entire plant cycle.
  • Biosys enriches the rhizosphere with a natural balance of micro-organisms to improve plant growth and allow healthy uptake of water and nutrients.
  • Helps plants recover quickly from periods of stress.
  • Biosys is highly concentrated.
  • The microbial catalysts in Biosys are water soluble.
  • No brewing necessary, an advanced instant alternative to aerated compost tea!
  • Biosys is very easy to apply – straight away!

Yeah i agree. I was reponding about bernies post. After stretch i’ll adjust mine to 50-60 region. Cxb1830s.
Also, yeah, kush does that. I have 3 purple afghan kush going and thats just how their leaves looks.

I would guess its ok. I couldnt find the back label if they post about the colony forming units (cfu,s). or what he actual microbes are maybe if you get it you can post a pic of the label, its states enzymes in it so you wont be missing your enzymes.

Go to the RAW website and look at the bloom microbe label and then find the hydroguard label you'll find out whats in hydroguard the raw brand has alot of those same microbes in it.

I noticed the the product you posted about seems to use a lot of it but in your setup use at 1/4 of that first so not to waste it but with the air you have running the microbes will reproduce and stay alive a long time. Adjust if you feel necessary.

If at some point you can get the hydroguard or the raw brand I say do that. Im actually using my last hydroguard and just going to use the raw brand. I think Ill be ok without hydroguard in my lineup but that works really well in hydro no complaints just a money thing.

I'll give it a try. Getting back with info from back label

Why are you putting bleach in the water? I am certainly no expert but bleach is not good for plants. I have read nothing anywhere that said to put bleach in a DWC. Did you mean H202? I have a 15 gallon DWC going and i had to use H202 because of issues with root rot. Hydrogaurd did not work for me. I was using it since the start and still had issues. I am not sure if hydroguard can expire, it is possible my bottle was old but i don't know if that is a thing for that product. Your issues look like root issues tho. If you already have root issues applying hydroguard now will not fix the problem. Hydroguard is meant to stop the problem from happening. But once it is there the product will not clear it up from what i have been told.

Plants can handle a little bleach not the best thing to use since it can be over done. H202 can burn fine root hairs and shouldn't be used on your roots unless you do it right, and people always think more is better with that stuff. And hydroguard will clean up your roots after the fact.

It's either/or. Go sterile or go with beneficials. If you are putting enzymes and benefical bacteria in your reservoir you should never use bleach or h2o2. It's like filling a room up with helper monkeys and then killing them all with poison gas.
I've used both methods with success, but you have to do them correctly.

Update!
Since last time she seems to recover.
I came to think of that i haven't calibrated my ec pen lately so i did.....
I think i might have gone a bit high in ec,,,, was 1.5, 750ppm at week 3 lol.
Now i am at .85 with newly calibrated pen.
The root looks kind of tanned, i think it is because the enzymes i add, it's brown in color.
No strange smell from roots, no slime, either from roots or inside wall of bucket or airhose.
Roots is clogged a bit, but underneath roots is separated and,,, new fresh roots has begun to develop from net pot.

Got my Biosys microbes by mail today, but if it is ok running as it is,,,, would you change from sterile (4 drops of bleach every 24h) to microbes?

Another Q.... I think she is growing short and bushy, i want her to stretch a litle. Best way to do that? Guess raising light/turn power down a bit (running led strips)?
