Please help with how much light

im growing in a 2.5x2.5x5 grow tent I bought a kit I would like to grow 2 plants the kit comes with a 480 watt led mars hydro which is actually 193a watts is this enough or should I buy a better light and would 1000w led be too much light or is there no such thing as too much light. thank you

A 400W HID would have been faaaaar better.
Look at getting real LEDs, maybe one of Stephens HLG LED panel kits.
You can just google those last 4 words.

You need atleast minimum 30 watts per square foot. 2.5 x 2.5 is 6.25 sq/ft. Which is 187 watts. But that's bare bare minimum. And you'll have fluffy larf all over the bottom. The 1000w leds I'm guessing you mean from Amazon or ebay. They are not 1000w leds. More like 190-250 and you'll eventually wanna go better. If you cheap the first time. You'll end up buying twice. If you have the money to buy leds. Go with strips or qbs. And be done with it.

I build striplights, but I also have the mental capacity to bring over 300 components into one design. For most people, if this is the first time you hear about Ohm's law, it is better to get a kit.
