If it's all you can afford run it all way through to harvest. If you can use LED. I had T5 it's hard to keep temps down, even with proper ventilation. Leds are much cooler and it's a hassle adjusting lights everyday just about. My T5s burnt the leavesyo close. An was hard to keep even canopy. I'dsay if you grow photoperiod an keep topping you'd get huge yield, depends how good you use itI was going to use 2 t8 bulbs but then I seen a lot of people on here using t5 bulbs so I thought maybe using both but I thought I'd ask first
I dont think t8 bulbs will fit in a t5 fixture(at least the ones I am using) if you could get a T5 Fixture with some H.O. Bulbs it will be more efficient then T8 but I don’t think by much. But with that being said T8’s are more available and easier to find, at least where I am at. A lot of the bulbs come in a 2 pack any ways so if it was me I would use the same for both bulbs.I was going to use 2 t8 bulbs but then I seen a lot of people on here using t5 bulbs so I thought maybe using both but I thought I'd ask first
You can get different light spectrums with the same type bulb, from 6.5K to 2.5K, that is where the difference comes in. T5 HO's are higher wattage, but need a specific ballast to run them. T5's are smaller diameter, so more can fit into the same area.I don't want 2 different bulbs I was simply curious if two different bulb types would give different benefits from both and if anyone has tried this if so what was the results
its rare these days for anyone to use shoplights or even T5'sOk forgive me if this is already on here somewhere, but im getting a two florescent bulb fixture and im thinking of having one t5 and one t8 florescent bulbs. Im wondering if this is good for growing from start to finish
Thanks that helps a lot i really appreciate your inputits rare these days for anyone to use shoplights or even T5's
but with patience you can get a better grow outta these than even the more popular LEDS
one or the other My preference is for the T5's about 30% more heat over T8's but to many on here thats not noticeable
go either one or the other and duel T8's /shoplights are cheap as chips to buy and use too
hang from chains in a tent or 3x4ft closet, adjust daily to hang within an inch of the leaf tips
VIP/ to ensure at veg you use 50% cool white to warm white for correct vertical growth
later in flower switch out the cool white to go 100% warm white also remove all lower laterals
as the light don't reach that far and makes great ventilation use the scarps as clones
good luck
