Just harvested and the smell was fruity at first but after 2 days hanging it has a real grass smell is this normal?....I'm hoping the cure process brings back some scent..thanx
No fan at just inside of my closest....it had the same smell as my gorilla glue and had no taste at all ..Sounds like it was dried too quickly , did you have a fan blowing on them directly ?? If it’s still wet on the inside you should be fine once you cure it
Has any of your herb took on a fresh cut grass a few days into drying??....maybe im doing something wrong idkSounds like it was dried too quickly , did you have a fan blowing on them directly ?? If it’s still wet on the inside you should be fine once you cure it

I'm not sure in the room I have them in I only have 1 Rh meter right now in the the grow room it's low right now around 40 drying in same room just in closet ....I'll start hanging whole plant I've heard it's a better way to save terpinesWhat’s your RH been ? , yeah I’ve had it befor a few years ago when I dried my plants out in a couple of days (I did get some smell and taste back once I put it I. Jars tho) , I now cut the whole plant and hang it upside down and it take about 5days to dry , there are a few very useful guides to harvesting and drying out in the harvesting and curing page that will go more into depth than I can explain .
Just 2 days today smell left pretty quickHow many days drying?
The fruity smell left quick grass smell took it's placeJust 2 days today smell left pretty quick
That will depend on your drying conditions relative humidity air flow etc but in general 5-7+ days of hanging. In my case I have the unfortunate of a relative humidity of 17% and mine are ready for jars in 4-5 days. A simple rule of thumb is to break the stock below the bud line and if you can hear a snap or crack your pretty much there. Once in jars burp them a couple times a day for a week or so till they feel dry and a bit pliable then leave the jars sealed and check them once a week for looks or smells of decay (mold). After that leave them sealed in a cool dark place and enjoy at your leisure. How many days drying?
Is the product dried completely now? Either way from what ive read it could be you chopped early or its drying too fast. Also, wet trimming can leach chlorophyll onto the buds and thats where the hay smell can come from. The ideal drying climate is 65f and 60% humidity and try to hold that for at least 14 days. Airflow but make sure the fan hits a wall and the air is the redirected to the buds. A seperate tent is ideal for drying but a carbon filter will strip the aroma off the plant. In a perfect scenerio I would only use an exhaust withoutout carbon filter and direct smell outside maybe chiminey so no one smells it hopefully.Just 2 days today smell left pretty quick
No not totally leaves are brittle but I can feel moisture inside still....the plant has suffered some sort of yellowing of all the leaves a week before cutting it..this is week 10 of auto flower....first gorilla glue was really green and tasted exact same so not sure what the yellowing has much to do with grass smellIs the product dried completely now? 14 days of drying sure seems like these buds would dry into dust idk seems to me maybe a day or 2 moreIs the product dried completely now? Not if you keep it in the environment I described.14 days of drying sure seems like these buds would dry into dust idk seems to me maybe a day or 2 more
Do you have a picture of the plant before you harvested? There can be a big variation in bud size, density and dry times.
