Seedlings :-)

Is that a humidity dom? Big no no for seedlings :-)
Yes I started them in the dome because it is extremely dry due to very cold temps, like low 20%, and because I'm having to keep overall room humidity lower than ideal due to a current issue with some fungal pathogens, I'm avoiding using a humidifier. They also stretched a lot because I didn't get the side lights set up earlier, and as of now they're ready to be transplanted so no more dome.

Stomata are not humidity dependant, pretty much ignore humidity is my advice but yer thats cool :-)

Ha ha seriously

Everytime i try to get them short i still get a little leggy.
Edit to add leggy from where the stalk exits the medium to the cotlyden .
from there they are ok

I always wondered if people with the really short seedlings sprout them long and replant them up to the cotlyden?

I seriously believe the exact equation for good seedlings is the secret to the rest of your grow, nail this and eventually you will turn pro.

Focus on whatever but those first two leaves are exactly the same as the rest.

My favourite grower here Tyke, some of his work is near perfect, some not but damn can that guy grow :-)

you're mentioning a humidity dome being a problem for seedlings, why is that might I ask?
Tbis thread is like really old but truly only a few seem to understand this plants relationship with humidity.

The dome dosent let leaves breathe, its use is for cut clones or keeping the soil moist till germination nothing else.

Yeah, that is painfully funny, but reminded me of a time, many years ago, when I had to flush a bunch of seedlings because a nosy landlord saw them sitting on my kitchen windowsill and threatened to call the cops.

I moved shortly after that, but not after getting revenge - one night, a few weeks later, I snuck into the laundry room and started up a couple of the washers, tossed in a bag of concrete, then unplugged them and left. But then he was a real asshole about a lot of stuff, even kept my cleaning deposit, so I felt he deserved a little payback, lol.

As for seedlings, I got a brand new batch of my homemade DJ's Shortbread - from a pack of regular seeds I ended up with a really nice monster male which I used to pollenate the best female of the bunch and ended up with over a hundred seeds (just from a couple of smallish lower branches). These have been in my fridge for over a year, but every seed out of the 42 I germinated popped, which blew my mind, lol.

In this pic there are 39 survivors (minus 2 runts and one accidental fatality ;?) they're a few days old and need to be transferred to cups stat.
