Cold basement grow tent help needed.

In my situation it does a great job. But my basement is only going down to maybe 58-60. Also I have some red, far red and IR chips in the tent. So when the lights are on it’s good.

How big is your grow area? I have a lasko that has two heat settings. The first uses up 800watts while the 2nd is 1500. I also have an inkbird hooked up to it. Does that mini heater heat up a 4x4 well?

I dont have it on high. I have it on the 800 setting (the number 1 setting).
Can that heater you posted heat up a 4x4 area well? So your little heater you got dont heat good at night? Id like it to be 78f both day and night (well as close to that as I can LOL).

i don't have the 200w one i have the same one as you but I don't use it anymore because the electricity was too much. it depends on your ambient temps. he says the 200w heater can heat his room but his basement is only 60 degrees. if youre in the 40s or 50s i think its gonna struggle.

How much do you pay for electricity per kwh?

$0.17 USD for the first 273 kwh, $0.25 per kwh over that, up to 1000 kwh, then $0.35 per kwh over that. with 4 people in the house and 2 tents we usually end the month in the middle of tier 2 electricity usage. ($200-300) but we've gotten to tier 3 before ($450-$500 with the help of the lasko heater). this is why i dont drive a tesla.

another problem i have with that heater is it runs at 6A/12A and i have all my stuff plugged into one outlet

I get charged $.06 for first 600kwh and $0.10 per kwhover that. I dont have a tier 3 or block over that. I have 15 amp breakers I believe. So I can run a 485 watt led and that heater. Thats why I was asking if it was good at heating a 4x4 so I could switch over. I may buy it just to see if its any good.

man i am jealous. those are great rates. i think in general oil radiators are more efficient than the ceramic fan heaters because they stay warm after you turn them off and don't have to have a fan running.

Actually, anything that consumes electricity generates heat, 1 watt = 3.412142 BTU.

I got infra-red foil wired to a thermostat on the ground of my tent. Night temps are at about 57F and day temps 73-77F. It keeps their feet warm and they like it very much. Also in the basement with fresh outside air comming in.

I didn't read most intermediary posts, but legit a fan speed controller with a day/night setting or a inline fan with a build in thermostat control like the ac infinity cloudline series would likely be great for helping temps out.

Heaters are expensive to run generally and if you have a veg space that runs lights 24h you can use that exhaust to help heat the basement. Might want to check co2 levels if you do, but in a pinch a veg tent exhaust can stop a coldsnap from killing your girls.
