Hi guys

Can someone with experience please tell me if these plants are foxtailing. They are under 315 cmh 12 12. 18 inches from tops. 76 degrees at top flower. I dont want to screw this up lol. Never had plants so good. They are super skunk in promix potting. Plankton fert evey 2 weeks. The cmh is a 3100. Do i need to back off light. I have 8 inches that i could raise it.
What are your temps? You want low to mid 70's, 80-82 at most. Low 70's lights out. You don't want a big swing of temps between lights on and lights off.

Co temps make rock hard nugs.

Raise the light.

LOL nope, I have run my canopy at 105 for days at a time with zero problems and zero foxtailing. My RH is usually around 10. A brief exposure to 90 won't bug them. Just don't leave them there. Make sure you have a fan on them for air circulation.

Light went up. 79 lights on 69 lights off.
Sometimes it's genetics but that usually happens with sativas. Thais are known for it.

This case I don't think it's genetics. It wasn't the temps. Most likely too much infrared from the light being close.

People say all the time t5 won't burn. I bought a 4ft 8 bulb unit with double stacked bulbs. 8 bulbs in the space most lights have four bulbs.

I fried my plants with it. It was 432 watts total. I ran it about 15 inches above canopy.

I don't know if those are permanent.

Ok. I raised the light to the roof. Its a 3100 cmh. I believe you are dight. The throws tons of uv. I just use the cmh for flowering. The buds are filling in very nicely. They doubled in a week. The second plant is 5 inches shorter and growing great with no foxtail. So it prouves your point. Lol is that a word....prouve..... oh im all kushed out lol. Just gonna let em go now. I cut out the plankton and gave them a nice dose lf p and k. I have a superskunk in the veg room thats been trained for 16 tops. Vegin is easy. I have work to do on flowering. Thanks for the help figuring that out. Next run i will keep the plants shorter.

I'm glad to hear the CMH is working so good. I just ordered one, and going to start a new grow soon. I'm going to use the 3100 also. It's a closet grow so I'm hoping heat won't be a problem. I can leave the door open, and the ballast will be remote.

Mine are in a 3 by 2 by 8 closet. Works great. Temp naturally sits at around 75 to 79 at plant tops when grown and the humidity sits around 35 to 40 naturally. One fan and big pots for lots of roots. Its a set up that just sort of came together. You wont be dissappointed. Please let me know what u grow and how it goes. We can pass info to each other seeing as we will have very similar set ups. Cheers!

So I thought you might like to see a Thai strain I grew a few years back that was all fox tail a really cool plant that yielded almost 23oz. The first pic has a ruler laying up against a bud a little to the back and the rest are bud porn. So you might be on to a big Girl.
Cheers!

I have a feelin you are right. This plant is a genetic marvel. Every day it grows very noticably. Foxtails are really quite pretty. Lol. That plant you had is a beast. Hope this one does the same. Thanks for the pics.

So, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of CMH do you use? Is the ballast in, or outside the closet?
