DTW drippers

Can anyone recommend me quallity drippers, please? I bought on ebay/China 10 pieces for 3€ (picture below), but they're not sprinkling like on pictures, only a little sad drops coming from them. I was using 2 per 10L pot, but they don't saturate it because of that. Oh yea, I know they're adjustable, but still don't work like on picture in left upper corner.

I suspect you may need a bit of pressure to get them streaming like that.

Water can create a lot of pressure by being lifted off the ground.
You add a shit tonne of pressure for every foot you raise the source of the water to.

I was using an aquarium pump, 1050 gph and did not have enough pressure so I upgraded my system to this 1.2 gpm @ 80 psi with a 30 psi pressure reducer. Had to turn the emitter down a lot so as not to spray outside the 3 gallon smart pots.

Oh I use Rainbird emitters, but just bought some cheap ones from china, will see how that goes, I don't think there will be a problem with the new pump.

I have water pump that on paper lift 1.8m high and 1500 liters per hour. Reservoir is 60cm high and 16mm hose is around 1m to drippers which are connected with 30cm 4mm hose. Doesn't seems too long, or?

@gr865 you had around 4000 liters per hour and it was too weak? How long hoses do you have? So now you have 1.2 gallons per minute pump? So weaker than first one. Is 30 psi pump enough? If I understand right, 80 psi is too much so you reduce it to 30 psi?

@ KonopCh

Was using 3/4 inch, about 6 feet long, it was not a presser pump and sitting on the floor, no elevation.
Less gallons per minute but this one is a pressure pump. Not sure it 80 was too much, but did not want to blow out the emitters so that is why I reduced it. Only had 5 plants on it, that is why I reduced the pressure.
Not sure how it will do with the next grow, a 24 plant SOG in one gallon smart pots, so my have to remove the pressure reducer.

I have a 4 x 4 Gorilla Grow Lite.
This is the proposed layout, will try and get the plants as close as possible.20190107_190614.jpg

These are the wire stand used to get the Smart Pots raised off the drain tray.

A mock up of the manifold, had the 3/4 pipe and fittings, but will be using 1/2 inch for the final manifold. This will be topped with three Orbit 8 port manifolds and fed by a 3/8 inch line.20190107_190654.jpg

I would use this 3/4 inch manifold but it would hold approx. 35% more solution while the pumps are off and I am concerned with pH rise in that closed environment. Not sure it means a lot but will build the 1/2 inch instead, have some of the fitting already.

Please correct me if I'm wrong is your filter installed backwards .?

It is in flow.
Only used it when I was using a product in place of Canna Boost but since I have gone back to
Canna I removed the filter but left the casing. Canna nutes are clean and I use clean water to make my solutions.

Nice. Every 1g smart part I've encountered has the same diameter so assuming that, I can promise you that layout will work. I have 9 1g smart pots in a 2x2 ID tray and the arrangement is identical to one of your 2x2 sections.

Your wire stand idea is interesting but have you thought about a coco mat? I already regret not running with this idea since i can see roots popping out of the smart pots. I did 5 plants in 3gal smart pots last time so I don't think it was necessary or rather, would have been impactful. With the 1 gallons though, I'm thinking it's a missed opportunity not using one. Shit maybe I still should just order it but I hate messing with my setup mid grow

I am not sure if I know what the coco mat is, I looked it up and if it is like the ones I saw I believe the roots would grow from the Smart Pots into the coco making it hard to move the plants.
The wire stands I have used a lot, still have wire from my biz before I shut it down and have the equipment to make the breaks and bends. Have a number of them in different sizes, from 12x12 up to the 22x22.
This last grow I did 5 plants in 3 gallon but won't do that again, the 3 gallon were just way to heavy to move in and out of the tent for plant maintenance.

Yeah they are for root growth - I never move my plants mid-grow but I guess if that's your style, the mats are a no-go

Major with the style for most of my grow, Vertical, it is essential that I am able to bring the plants out of the tent to work on them, just no room in the tent to do so.
This is how I disconnect the line to remove the pots. A quarter inch Quick Disconnect. Just disconnect it and lift the pots out. Used to pull the whole apparatus out of the pot. This last grow was with 3 gallon pots vertical, was a bitch lifting them heavy coco pot. So will be going to two gallon max for vert grows from now on. Can still use the 3 gallon in my horizontal grow.

I may also have to go back to dripper instead of the emitters with this next grow is I have difficulty adjusting these emitters. 24 of the emitters are hard to get calibrated correctly, every thing you do it effects the other emitters. Will post pics in my thread when I get the drippers set up.

I'm doing my first top drip grow and it's definitely a more hands-on experience than my previous system! Also after this conversation I ordered a coco mat haha - in one day the roots were finding their way into it so I'm excited to see what happens. Understandable that you can't utilize them with your method of grow
