No need to. My house has walls and they work just fine. They work so well that part of the property also uses wall technology. There's also a bit of metal fencing, but it does the job.

Also fair to ask if this 250 miles of replaced and repaired fencing would have the effect on illegal immigration seen in the charts you copied and pasted from a right wing propaganda site. That question has already been answered. It would not because practically all illegal immigration comes through our airports and would not be affected by this fence. Also, 250 miles of fencing on a 2000 mile border isn't much of a barrier.
