hi first time grow. I planted some germinated autoflower seeds straight into my medium. Using FFOF, flushed it a little two days prior. One of them have broke the surface but look a tad odd from pictures I’ve seen. Just trying to get some opinions. Is she healthy and doing well?
Thanks

Looks great, Well done. Autos are so important to get right through veg and I think you're looking good.

Okay thanks. Still trying to get the water down. Very top layer of soil seems to dry out fast. It’s still damp about 1”-1&1/2” below. When and how often should I be watering? I have just been misting with a water bottle.

Hello there Weze, she looks to be off to a good start. Just remember don't feed her any nutrients just yet … ok ? Wait till she has 5 - 6 true sets of leaves. So many people start giving there seedlings nutrient and the poor like seedling goes down hill real quick.

I think you will need more than just water to get to 5 sets of leaves in Coco...

In coco that's true however the OP is in Fox Farm Ocean Forest which is pretty hot. So holding on all food is a good idea.

Ocean Forest® Potting Soil
Good Things From the Earth and Sea!
Our most popular potting soil, Ocean Forest® is a powerhouse blend of aged forest products, sphagnum peat moss, earthworm castings, bat guano, fish emulsion, and crab meal.

Seedling looks fine. I’ve had one at that stage for maybe two days with a dome on top. The roots are growing. They are making moves before the leaves will start to grow. Takes time.

Okay thank you all for the input. I am using 3 gallon smart pots. See a lot of forums of first timers being impatient and start messing with things. Just letting her do her thang.

My plants didn't want any nutes until around day 30-35 least, also growing in FFOF
Prob closer to day 40 to be honest.

I tried giving them nutes at day 30 and they immediately began showing signs of N tox. Next time was Day 46 veg and they took nutes well. I went from solo cup/2g fabric pot/5g fabric pot

FFOF seems to be packed with some long last good stuff lol

My newest space cookies plant popped up out of the soil upside down, like taproot sticking up in air half inch or more before i noticed.

I gently rearranged the soil and flipped her over, thinking she was a goner, to my surprise, she sprouted again the correct way.

One of her leaves was half covered in membrane and can't be removed without cutting half the leaf off, I left her alone , not expecting much.

Fast forward two weeks later and this little beast is front running the other. These plants are amazing and apparently very resilient when they want to be lol

If it was green it wasn’t the tap root.

Yes I've had mine go topsy on me too. As for the retained membrane the higher the humidity initially helps with them shucking those off. I have mine in a humidity dome until they shall and membrane are completely off. I also will give a squirt of water directly on the leaf that's holding onto one or both.
