I do have some light gardening experience mainly with flowers, before this winter my job required me to be gone for months at a time so I could never have a real garden. There are a couple local shops around that offer living soil and all the ferments/LABS made in house for me to limp through this first year until I'm comfortable enough to make my own. Definitely have to take you up on the help offer I'm sure! Not that I have a grey thumb but it's not the deepest green either.

Shangrila at 20 days. I really kick myself for not realizing that the HPS was on 400w for the first 7-10 days 
but nonetheless, she is really taking off now. Noticing growth on the daily. I topdressed her a couple days ago, 1/4c of acid mix by DTE, 1/4c of Bloom by Organically Done, couple TBSP of basalt rock dust and stirred it all in with some fresh EWC and layered it on top. Got a green mulch of cannabis leaves right now, but I just picked up a bale of straw to start using to try and boost my fungal colonies in the medium. Also gave her some BioAg full power (good for fungal foods, again trying to boost the populations).
More updates coming soon. Going to check in on the Texas Butter grow tomorrow night, do some cloning and transplanting.
I also want to start doing some more serious data logging. I'm going to start a grow lab notebook and keep each set of plants as its own entry. Then I can start to adjust some variables and be able to compare to previous grows. I do keep notes now, but not nearly detailed enough. Then I can start messing around with foliars like epsom, aloe and others, as well as different soil amendments/products. I'm also looking into picking up a 1000x microscope with a digital camera so I can start looking at the organisms in my mixes and teas.

Happy new year everyone! Little veg side update...
Started some new seeds from Greenpoint, the Cookies 'n Chem. Heard a lot of good things about this strain, so I'm excited to give it a go and see if I can find a nice pheno. I popped 6 seeds, but two of them wilted out on me after moving them from the paper towel to soil. Not sure if I left them in there too long or what. Here are the remaining 4, and I have 5 more seeds to go through at a later date, just gonna work on these 4 for now...
Finally getting somewhere with this Cannatonic Perkin's Cut. Near 20% CBD and <1% THC when my buddy had a lab sample done from some he grew. Hoping she takes to the soil well... she does some weird shit at my friends house and I'm hoping that in a more natural environment the plant will restrengthen in time.
Also going to do a little side by side experiment with a pumice sip and a topwater/drip. The strain is Pre 98 Bubba Kush. These plants are nearly identical in size and shape, are from the same batch of clones, and are equally healthy. They are in 7gal plastics. The pumice sip i will occasionally water in the top if i'm adding anything like aloe, coconut water, or compost tea. Other than that, it will be entirely sub irrigated.
I'm planning on flipping these in about 3-4 weeks. I'm gonna put them both under one light, and use a trellis. Here was the root ball at transplant... well overdue, but these plants obviously are not caring at all, they look great! They were in a 1 gallon pumice SIP.
Here's the Texas Butter after getting a transplant to 7 gal fabrics (front right plant is not part of that run). Sorry for the poor quality picture
. These will get more pruning, and flipped in 2 weeks.

Cookies N Chem seedlings coming along. ~10 days from breaking soil. The runts are catching up just fine. Popped 6, they all germ fine, but i may have left them in the tupperware too long, 2 of them wilted out on me after transplant.
Gorilla Glue at 3 weeks into flower. Did a light defoliation, pretty easy plant to manage. Topdressed and mulched with straw.
Brainwreck at 7 weeks exactly. Forgot to topdress this run, the large one is running out of food. These are in 5 gallon plastics. Still 3 weeks to go to when I normally take them... but they may get chopped in 2 as they are starting to ripen. Should be a great crop!

So apparently I missed the train to malted barley town. I've been reading and listening up a lot on this amendment... and I'm pretty sure I'm bout to pick some up. Seems like the best way to buy it is whole, and then grind it yourself as needed. Seeing 10lb. for 18$ on Amazon, 6 row... need to start researching more!

Yeah on that interview Tad hussy did with Clackamas Coot, coot recommended getting the cheapest one. He said pick up what ever malted barley is on sale or cheapest. I used some in my veggie garden last summer I really can't say if it did anything special because I used it in a new 4x4 raised bed. So I have nothing to compare it to

also have some new plans on the next worm bin i put together (stealing coot's method ha!). going to get malibu compost and replace the peat moss with that. So it'll be aged leaves, malibu compost, pumice, neem meal, alfalfa, kelp, and malted barley. take care of the grit for their gut with some basalt and topsoil from underneath my outdoor compost. Should make for some killer castings!

Everything is looking great in here, love the Brainwreck. Mind if I pick your brain a bit? I have my plants up and running, sprouted in party cups(Fox Farm Soil) for a little longer than I wanted waiting on smart pots to come in. When I transplanted them into the new soil/pots I noticed they were a little root bound bit not bad, at the same time as transplant I moved them under a CMH 1000 watt running at 75% and 40" above the tallest plant. The leaves curled upwards, thought it was transplant shock so I let it go for a couple days then raised the light a little farther and dropped it to 50% today as they haven't improved. Ran out of space in my tent so I left a couple under the florescent light until my next setup is ready, those are looking amazing. Any idea what could be up? Temps range from 72-76 humidity 38-45, 24 hour light.
