FYI I'm not defending Drgreenthumb or his seeds in anyway they might be crap. I'm simply trying to have a conversation and discuss variables logically. I understand being upset if you spent that much money on seeds and got nothing.
With that being said I've bought lots of packs that even though the seeds grew the genetics were junk. It's part of the seed game. I was bummed but didn't flip out on the breeder.
I haven't bought seeds or really ran any seeds in about 4 years because I found some sweet genetics and have stuck with them. Only recently have I been messing with seeds again as a chance to mix up my variety.

Ya, he wont get refunded. Asshat wont stay on the phone long enough to work with you on refunds...lol...When you tell him there is a problem with the seeds; he blames the grower then cops an attitude and either hangs up or is such a dick you hang up.

With all do respect; Dr Greenthumb is a disrespectful prick when you talk with him on the phone. Some may be on his good side and he may talk to you respectfully but I'm not one of them. When I called him about buying 20 seeds two strains and out of 8 seeds 1 popped and that plant was of pour quality at harvest, he immediately blamed me for not knowing how to grow....lol......Our conversation was a very short one as I wont be talked down to like a dog. There are a ton of seed banks that do a great job with their customers and backs their products. He is not one of them.

With that being said I would NEVER consider contacting a breeder or seed bank to complain about failure to germinate, unless I'm testing seeds for the breeder (which I do). I come from a time when growing was illegal everywhere. Most seed banks would laugh at you If you ask for a refund because of failures to germ because you aren't "supposed" to germ them. Most wouldn't even talk about growing them. I suppose I've always accepted that seeds in an illegal industry are a total crap shoot. I've spent hundreds if not thousands on beans over the years and I've only got a few plants that were worth keeping. One I my favorites was even a freebie, not something I bought.
I don't care how long any of us has been growing some times shit happens and we have failures.
Maybe the seeds are old or bad so don't buy more, I just don't see the point in making any of this about a grumpy old guy instead of about the genetics.

Like I said my gorilla glue out of 6 I have one sprout, I have not tried the rest...I emailed him and he told me “It sounds like your too wet, damp but not wet”....
I worked in a ag setting for 10 years doing which time I grew and created thousands of my personal seeds so I was pretty upset as mother nature sprouts her own dam seeds...
As for saying the seeds are old.....After he told me damp but not wet I went to my refrigerator and busted out 15+ year old self made durban poison blueberry, dropped a bunch in two cups, threw soil on it, watered it once, 8 days later I have a forest of grass....Maybe he dont refrigerate his seeds?
I never not a single time ever in the thousands of seeds I been through in the last 20+ years used a silly paper napkin to sprout a silly seed...Funny because every single ecsd and turkish I planted from him sprouts 100%, gorilla glue, nadda
Im going to plant 3 more gorilla glue today wish me luck
Despite being screwed I still plan on buying the white, hes the only breeder I have ever came across with stable above average genetics. I wish the dam seeds would pop, something is happening to these non sprouters at the breeders, too much heat or something is sterilizing them
I look at it this way, I have spent hundreds of dollars on attitude seeds ages ago(I stopped buying seeds all together 10 years ago because of worthless fancy named crap)and almost everyone was crap, unstable worthless grass...Its the reason I still plan on buying from him , rolling the dice and hoping the seeds sprout
I only came across one crappy sour diesel and one crappy turkish out of all the seeds, not all but most, I have very few of those original seeds left

I just planted 3 seeds of gorilla out of 5, guess what 2 seeds were cracked, I have 3 planted and no more seeds left...I literally gently picked up the seed and I could feel it was cracked...WTF

It definitely sucks that the customer service seems to be pour. I hope you have better luck with these last gorilla glues.
If not it would seem worth staying away from the GG in the future, which is good for the rest of us to know.

Lol not sure why you would say that, I've never met the guy or ran his seeds. I joined in this thread simply to gather more info from people that had ran his seeds.
I might order some trainwreck still, but again I thought I would ask other growers if they had tried it.
It seems like you've had mixed results from his work, and that seems like the same that many others have said.
I'm not sure what i did that seems to have rubbed you the wrong way.

With all of the good breeders out there, I don't know why anyone would want to buy seed from Dr. Greenthumb. If you're looking for S1's of elite cuts, you can go to someone like CannaVenture, and get way better service for a lot less coin. I've never bought from Greenthumb because I've heard enough negative reviews about him. I've heard a few say nice things too, but at that price, why gamble?

Guy has a very well documented history of being a dick on the phone. Some say he has fire, others seems to have problems... bottom line guy doesnt seem to stand behind his product, which is outrageously expensive.
It sucks if you got burned, but there are plenty of other breeders that stand behind their product and dont have a history of being a turd.

I agree with you I think his gear is so overpriced nobody buys it so his seeds around sit and get old, so they don't crack. And a lot of people have said that he's a dickhead so fuck him and the horse he rode in on, thanks for the heads up because I've been considering his Panama Red for quite a while but it's ridiculously priced and now I wouldn't buy anything from this guy forget about him

The ONLY REASON I did was he is the ONLY person holding THE REAL G-13 But I mite have it now any way in a clone and it came from his beans.If it lives I WILL MAKE MILLIONS OF HIS G-13 and give the beans away free to stop his conn ass from ripping people off with his OLD BEANS THAT WILL NOT SPROUT.

Even if Greenthumb does have the real G-13, I'd rather go elsewhere. NDN Guy's G13HP is a very worthy cross, and can be found. One fellow was kind enough to send some to me for free, which is what NDN Guy asked people to do. I plan to do the same once I do an open pollination.

So it seems like a bad idea to bother messing with these beans with all the mixed reviews. I had only even started looking at them because he's the only person I found with what is supposed to be trainwreck, and not a cross. I would much rather deal with someone else if you guys have any ideas on getting actual trianwreck. Cannaventure seems to only have crosses, and I can't find any solid reviews of the Medicann Trainwreck.
