Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Without homegrow it's almost not worth legalization.
For those of us who see legalization as a social justice issue (i.e., recognizing that certain minorities have historically borne the brunt of the "war on drugs") legalization, and expungement, in itself is a truly worthwhile goal.

I too would like to see the law be liberal in terms of personal freedom. Limits on plants, limits on public consumption, limits on private sector discrimination: these are all also very import aspects of legalization. But even if the first version of the law isn't perfect in these regards, to me, it's better to get legalization on the books and remove cannabis as a political tool wielded by regressives against vulnerable communities.

Approval letter from IDPH arrived today, 2 days after approval. Clearly they mailed it right away. From time mailed application was received by IDPH to dispensary access in hand: 92 days. The letter expires end of February, so hopefully I'll have my actual card by then.

FYI the letter includes me AND my CG on one piece of paper. This is nice simply because I didn't see their letter in informed delivery and thought we'd have to keep waiting, but could be a pain because it also means navigating who holds onto the letter or where we keep it so we have ready access if/when it's needed.

That's why I say almost. My main thing is to stop arresting people for victimless crimes.
But there are those who say they won't support it without homegrow. Without homegrow for at least medical it's unlikely it will ever get added for everybody.
If it's there for medical that can always be pointed to to show none of the doom and gloom is coming true.

I just got through on the phone and applied online nov 6th and they said they still haven't gotten to my name yet so who knows when the hell it'll get approved. I guess i'll continue to buy on the street and take 20 pills a day until I can get medicine specific to my conditions. Pretty sad people have to suffer
That is Bad, 81 days and not approved.

Made edibles from RSO from windy city last night. super easy to make and each one came out to 27 mg each for a total of 1000mg edibles for only 60. i bought candy molds at michaels n candy maker at jewel
Make sure your math is correct. If you have a 1000ml syringe and the RSO is 75% you have 750mg thc in a total of 1000ml. So for example if you made 30 edibles the math would be 750 / 30 = 25mg each

If you sizes are different you can calculate further by weighting the different sizes and doing some math calculations. Probably too much work for most people and I would recommend all pieces to be same shape and size for accurate dosing.

Congrats to all the new paper card received

I’m on day 98 no card. I got sick of the wait so I had my buddy go to the dispensary for me. I hate Illinois so damn much

They really should call 1g syringes 1g (or even ml) and not 1000mg to avoid confusion.

Called in to IDPH Thursday.. got through around 2:30PM... they said I was approved and I will receive my “letter” in the mail next week. Due to the printing issue.... My hard copy of my card is on hold but this “letter” will be in place of the card.... 1Body 1Life Dr. Frahm helped me apply and he sent in my application online and it was approved same day on 11/1. Big news: From Rep Cassidy getting an answer from IDPH
If you applied online after December 1st you should be getting provisional access February 1st. If you have a valid email in the system.
If you apply online after January 31st you should get provisional access within 24hrs.

Amazing how much I condensed that from her post on FB. I'm usually more wordy :bigjoint: Dispensary trip today, hoping to get a recycler for my dry herb vape.:weed:

So if we sent it in regular mail we're still screwed? Sounds about right.

FANTASTIC NEWS!! PROVISIONAL STARTS NEXT THURSDAY, JANUARY 31ST!!! I PRIED IT OUT OF THE HIGHER UPS at The Meeting Just Now at The Dispensary. Met with Cresco Regional Rep, and the Owner of the Dispensary, stated my concerns on Supply Availability for Card Holders, She Assured They have been Ramping up Production for Months.
.
IF YOU ARE CONTEMPLATING APfree-at-last-free-at-last-thank-god-almighty-im-free-at-last.jpgPLYING, WAIT 5 DAYS THEY SAID. NEXT WEEK WILL BE HISTORIC. I assume that means anyone applying after the 31st will get an auto temporary cards to print out immediately. Also, Opioid People will not get Hard Copy Cards.

Also, Opioid People will only be allowed an Ounce at a Time.< not sure If that is every 2 weeks or what, it will all come out, Probably Monday. Also, 72 Hour Turn around Guarantee to Get Your Provisional Access upon Application.!!! People will be in the Dispensary's by a Week From Monday I would Bet. They did not talk about you wonderful People here who already applied, But I am Very Worried about Why She said to Wait, it sounds like if You Apllied Before Jan 31, Maybe No Provisional? What a Screw Job That Would Be. I am Praying they do not do that to you guys and gals here. Also, Expect Intractable pain to Be Added She said, allowing for up to 2 Million people Access. Holy Crap! One of those 8 Lawsuits was Won, so JB will drop it in 30 days, called Revoking.

Sadly yes, but that has been expected since the get go. I've been telling people to only apply online.

It would've been nice if IDPH had talked about the plan for not applying it before December 1st applications because that's when the rule went into effect so November applicants could've weighed their odds and held off applying until after December 1st.
The way I see it is November first would be right on the edge if IDPH had kept their former 90 days going. Now everyone who applied in November is getting screwed both by no provisional and by IDPH being slow.

Rep Cassidy did say she would talk to IDPH about expediting people in the system that aren't eligible for provisional.
She also said in the Town Hall that IDPH is being much more agreeable (she said since OAPP was signed, but I think it's more since JB won). I sure haven't seen anything I'd call more friendly since 8/28.

It's supposed to go back to the rule making date, but that's the best they can do. Definitely a screw job for those who applied before then.

Funny thing about intractable pain, they're probably eligible for OAPP. Too little too late. Although MCPP is a better option.

SWEET RIG!!

You are right Myk about a screw job. And The Intractable Pain also, it is Great to Have OAPP if you do not have one of the 41 RAUNER Conditions., If you do, get The Full Card. The OAPP will be a Pain, every 90 days sending in a new Note, get something More Permanent if you can get approved, or do OAPP til JB gets The Intractable Pain Appeal Rauner Filed Dropped or Revoked. You will be glad. .

I love Bongs, First Thing I bought was Hash and a Bong. I wanted to get Glass, But I remember My Friends and I breaking so many by knocking them over in the 80's, BUT Thinking Back, those were 2 feet tall and 2 inches wide, so, Yeah, Major Tipping Hazard.
So I bought a Plastic to be safe. A few days later, I knocked it off the shelf onto the concrete floor. I was so Glad it was not a nice Expensive Glass One. I do plan to get one, a Low Boy Maybe, LOL, but will Keep it only near the Carpet!! NOTHING TASTES BETTER THEN GLASS BONGS!!
