Small Grow

I'm trying to find a lighting solution for a small grow, maybe four plants max. Looking for small footprint but as efficient as possible. Right now my concerns are seed growth to continue the genetics I've invested in. After that I'll worry about producing bud.

Would the QB132 four pack be a decent starting point for a 2x4 or a 3x4 ? If not, what dimensions would you consider that four pack to be good for ? I'm really trying to do my research and learn as much as possible but am sure as most of you know, that could be a full time job itself. Sometime it helps to shortcut and just ask for experienced opinions.

My intentions are to maybe pop 5 - 10 seeds and see what phenos show up and cull from there to get at least one good male and 2 - 3 females to seed. Doing a smaller grow isn't an issue if that four pack won't be enough to sustain four plants. Just looking to stay small for now and get as much bang for my buck as possible. I've spent way more on genetics at this point but have not really invested in any equipment yet. Just wondering if anyone else has gone the small route and has experience with the QB132 or have better options in the same price point.

I will be running 4 132s in my 2.5x2.5. Dimmed down to 220w. These boards can run 75w each i believe so 4x would be up to 300w if you had a driver rated for that much. The driver I will be using is hlg-240-c1750a with will power them up to 240w total or 60w each board. From what I've read you want around 30 35w per sq ft. So if you powered the 4 132s at 60w each in a 4x2 you would have 30w per sqft about perfect. But you would have to order additional boards and driver of you wanted to add more coverage

Not sure why you would go with all that work when a QB320 would be perfect for 4 x 2

The QB132 V2 four packs are on sale right now. It's easier for me to buy in pieces and get what I can afford at the time rather than dropping one lump sum right now.
I do like the looks of the QB 320, wish that was doable right now.

4 boards+ hlg185 @ 50w each would do allright for a 4x1.5.

30-35/sqft is absolute bare minimum. 45-50 flowers alot better. 30w/sqft is good for veg. But it's kinda low for flower. So if you're only vegging then 30 is good.

Reading more and more everywhere, as time allows. Now the QB96 ELITE V2's have my interest. No mention of what LEDs are used or the manufacturer of the LEDs though. Some interesting threads here using them though. While that would be more expensive if needing more than 2, they might be a better option.

2 qb96 and an hlg-320h-54b (id recommend this over a 240h since these boards can take it and with the type b you could just dim them down to exactly what you need for your space) would crush it.

only $75 more than the 132s, you'd have a less even spread but you would have the added red and deep reds.

edit: misinformation.

you can't go wrong either way.

i use the 96s if u wanna check i have a link to lots of pics in my signature

oh, it would seem you are correct. I thought I'd read all the v2s use the 301b. my mistake thats clearly wrong.

either way 2 96s and a 320h will kick ass! essentially an HLG 360 which they sell for $800.
That was my line of thinking as well. That setup would basically be the same thing for less than half. More work on the user end but I don't charge myself for labor.

Digging more, that LED could also be the LM302Z. That one specs a bit higher than the LM301Z

Ooooohhhh….getting swallowed up into the abyss!!! Ive caught myself obsessing over a couple hundred lumens in a 2x4....And I aint ashamed of it neither..... The time came for me, I had to get a hold of myself though, and build a f'n light aleady!
Sons abitchin' data sheets....

Still can't tell if they are using the LM301Z or LM302Z in the QB96 Elite V2. No answer yet, second email sent. Hopefully they can shed some light, pun intended.
The nerd in me wants to know.
