Is day one of flowering when you start to see actual buds forming or pre flowers with pistols I have 2 white widow fast plants I switched to 12/12 2 days ago

it seems like most people start counting on the day they move them to 12/12. i personally don't start counting till the stretch is about half done and i see a certain amount of pistils. it doesn't really matter when you start counting, as long as you're consistent about it. always start counting at the same time, whether it's the first day or at a certain point.

if you're trying to use the breeders estimate as a guide, you'll probably be disappointed....they're never very accurate, unless you have a nearly identical set up to what they use....

i count when i flip; never follow those generic time table saying takes 8-10 weeks to harvest. just much easier for me to track when i count by flipping

From 12/12 flip, sometimes with seeds I add an extra 2 weeks, hence they sometimes take 3-4 weeks before sexing/flowering is under way...

Have a good Weekend people...
yup this happens to me all the time so i need to add on an extra few weeks before i am close to harvesting this is why i never follow the time tables. my first grow i did and asked around people said not to harvest as it wasn't ready ( i dont use a jewelers loop so i cant really see trichomes that well ) let em go for like 3 more weeks the buds swelled up really nice and smelled better ontop of that.

get a loupe....ten bucks or there about on amazon and ebay...the 60/100 ones work great. don't rely on one totally, though. watch for the pistils drawing up, wait for the "swell" then start checking trichs. look at the ones on calyxes, not on sugar leaves. a lot of the "amber" trait has been bred out of many strains, so look for as many milky and as few clear as you can get. if the strain you're running does "amber" up, wait till you have a fair percentage of amber....
