Best light on the market ?

Dude the tops weren't fried it was a figure of speech. I know how to raise a light. I have 10 foot ceilings and a 2 ton mini split 5 feet from that scrog. I raised the light and the outside was just way to dark. That 1000w cmh sucks just accept it. I didnt spend 400 dollars on a light to talk shit about it for nothing. I know how to grow that is a fact
Ok go with that, it's a secondary issue anyway, the leafs were curling up so something wasn't right, regardless of what, so it isn't a fair shake on the cmh. On top of that it isn't a fair shake by also using a high power single light source. You also seemed to have a lot of bulbs blowing on you, is that a common DE fault or is the brand of bulb/ballast questionable?.

''That 1000w cmh sucks just accept it'' No, I won't accept that. What I would be more willing to accept is ''1000w focused light source of any tech sucks'' within context, as you also found out with the prior statement. You said raising the light gave shadows, putting it too close ''heat stressed'' the plants, so you almost could not win. Do you think that issue is exclusive to cmh and does not apply to any high W focused light, even cob?. I'd also bring into question the hood, was it actually able to cast out as far as you were trying while maintaining a decent over all intensity?. Maybe not, or, maybe the hood company said it could, but in reality it could not. Company's of all techs make stupid claims all the time, that's again not a cmh specific issue. I personally hate fixed hoods anyway, they lock you into one canopy dimension and almost dictate that you have to scrog, while scrog isn't the most optimal canopy for hid anyway.

Please don't think this is personal, I am just pointing out the discrepancy's that put your claim into question. On the bright side, what if mistakes were made, you figure it out then you can use the lights you've bought, that's surely a good thing.

315 watt CMH the retro fit kit from Amazon actually was a home depot shipment. Ballest using the retro socket and ge bulb 3200 flower/ 4200 veg. It screws into your existing light hood. Best hood for sq ft is the sun system epic with mirror finish,(super hard to find) but the XXL hoods have nice coverage too. But the 315 has best spectrum and usable light hours (20k) 1.5 -2 years. (UVB). Second best seems to be 10k 1000 W MH or Gavita light. The MH works well as a finishing bulb (uvb). Downside with mh is 6-12 months usable light intensity depending on usage hrs. (Flower) Works well in veg too. Gavita is good all around.

My next run is going to be lit entirely with bioluminescent jellyfish. I'm expecting at least a unit per jellyfish.

What's the light spectrum? It seems pretty blue. Maybe use them for veg and then flower using Angler Fish since they seem to have more of the red spectrum.

Good call! I was considering supplimenting with fireflies but i think the angler fish will give me better PAR numbers. :)

kingrow find a way to scientiffically disprove bioilluminescent plants as inefficient!!!!!!!!! IM WAITING

A system and energy better spent elsewhere rather than its fruitless present path.

Would biolume. in nature develop in a less harsh environment.

Efficient in some species yes, could they have done better.... Probably.

Quantify efficiency a little more and youll answer your own question :-)

Bioluminescent weed would be awesome, is there no bacteria we can let feed on dried bud to make it glow?

I want to be that one guy at a party who was smoking glowing weed :-)
