to be honest if u got 4 grand to spend on led go for it you would either be super thick or really dumb and a diy low end comes in around 600-800 bucks and u wont pull pounds not even close with a single 400hps u will have a good running chance at 9 ounces even more led 800 bucks 3 ounces and a lot of disappointment

If choosing between cxb3590 and the chilled pucks I'd go for the pucks. They can be used full cycle no problem.

And quite a lot of us have this rob333 on ignore. While hps is cheaper and can do a great job, he try-hards to bash decent led companies. He is also wrong when he states things like leds can't produce more weight or quality. It's like he ignores data and facts to push his own agenda. You can in fact cover a 5x9 with 2 x1000w hps or 3x 600w hps. Or 3x 630w cmh lights. HiD lighting has its place, but it isn't the end all of this hobby.

@rob333 Why is it so hard to have a concise post or edit your previous posts? Do you just like seeing an entire page with your name all over it?

He can get great LED lights for a 4x9 space for that same cost.

No one said HPS won't grow plants. LED lights will grow better plants for less energy and with much less heat management issues.

Awesome thanks! Can I ask why the pucks over the CBX? The CBX is customizable while the other is not. The pucks do not say anything about full cycle which I'm assuming means full spec they just say "Easy to assemble kit comes with everything needed for a 4' x 4' grow space, using highly efficient Samsung diodes." while the CBX specifically mentions veg and flower. I totally believe you and that it can I was just curious was all.

Also I ignored that Rob dude. Hah

It's got additional reds that help put on a bit of extra weight. They use the same base diodes, just have a bit of 660 nm diodes. Either way I think you will be satisfied and im confident both will work satisfactorily for full cycle. It's only 4 additional reds per puck so max you are shifting is a couple of hundred kelvin.

Please note that I haven't used them myself yet, but I have seen them run full cycle in person and I was personally impressed.

I think I might be sold. Granted they are expensive and I am not made of money but I'm pretty confident that I'll definitely get my moneys/quality worth at least I hope so. Again thanks a lot for all the info from everyone that has posted! So I did have an idea I'm not sure it it was a good one or not I was thinking about it last night maybe you or anyone else could give me some input. So basically If I did get the two pucks I was thinking of running one puck on each end with the mars filling in the middle until I can maybe get a third puck or something equal to or greater. What do you think?. Worth it or should I just toss the mars? I drew a picture but it is awful so I really apologize. Ha

I'd say just stick the mars in there with the pucks, they aren't great stand alone lights and have a tendency to fail after a shortish amount of time. Can you link the puck fixture you are trying to purchase, there might be lights that would cover the area more readily with your comfortable budget. I'm not suggesting you break the bank going for lighting. Just let me know and I'll help you the best I can bud.

Thanks I really appreciate it. Right now I have to lights I'm currently looking at I'll post a link on both below. Keeping the Mars still is optional I don't intent or want to break the bank on lights by any means but at the same time I'd rather start with something that will last be a good while then buying 4-5 cheap leds that will break after one or two grows.

This is from Timber which from what I've read everyone seems to love. I did mange to talk to someone on their website and gave them my set and dimensions . He/she don't know who it was but said if I wanted to fill the entire tent they recommend two of these at 3500k https://timbergrowlights.com/redwood-vs/. However, since I don't need to fill the whole tent I mentioned that I wouldn't really only need something for maybe 5x6.5 to 5x7 max and they suggested three of these also at 3500k https://timbergrowlights.com/model-4vl/ and added I could put them in a 'U' shape which I didn't think of and is pretty awesome.

Second choice is the one previously talk about the from Rapidled. Either two of these if wanted to fill the tent https://www.rapidled.com/chilled-logic-4-x-4-led-grow-kit/. Or possible three of these to just fill the area I need https://www.rapidled.com/chilled-logic-3-x-3-led-grow-kit/. Any and all opinions are welcomed.

You should talk to rapid about doing 2 fixtures. 6 pucks on each 4x4 frame with hlg-600h-48a driver (or two hlg320h-48a) drivers. Should cover well and cut the price a bit. I'd definitely try to get two fixtures that could cover 4x5/5x5 areas each. Then you wouldn't need to buy anything else lighting wise for several years, like 5-7 years from either company.

Can I ask why you would go with Rapid or Timber? Both get really great reviews on this site so I'm sure I'd be happy with both however Rapid is a little more expensive.

Either is great honestly, they both use the same technology and general diodes. Go with whichever you can get a better deal with.

Dan from timber and Carlos from rapid led are super great to work with.

I like rapid led frame better, but I like the heatsink from timber more. It's a pretty even race.

I believe I talked to Dan from Timber but still haven't heard back from anyone yet from Rapid. Wasn't aware they were the same technology that helps. I think as of right now I'm leaning towards Timber because they are a little cheaper and answered all my questions on the spot so until I hear from Rapid then I'll make a permanent decision. Again thanks for all the help/info I truly do appreciate it from you and everyone that has posted!
