How do you veg under led strip light?

I Start my first led grow with 2 week old clones
(9×Amnesia core gut and 9×skunk1)
Both a Bit stretchi.

I grow with hydroton (canna aqua)
Ebb&Flow

Light:
2 panel 17 ×33 inc.
Each panel has;
12 Samsung f strips (1 foot Double raw)
And a hlg 240h-24a
Each panel has 22volts And 200watt

What distance shout i Start (cannopy to light)
What do i have to watch (what is diffrent to hps grow?
Less feeding?

I let the light run over night, temp stays at 23C

And the Panels maybe 30C

Depending on how warm they are as to how high you need them. Keep an eye for calmag issues. White mid power leds cause calmag consumption above normal.

The light stays realy cool on the aluminium sheets maybe 35° celsius
And 10 inches unter the light maybe 24° celsius(the hole room has 21-23° celsius)

What high (distance) do you Start growth
(From fresh rootet clones/2weeks old)

I dont know if i should Start with the full 400w and 35 inches distance .
Or if i should tourn down the amps to get less wattage (maybe 200-300w) and hang the light deeper ?

Start soft and high. 35 inches sounds good. 400w is way too much. Your leds are very powerfull and your clones dont have a very developed root system. They wont be able to feed the plant in high light levels. Also leds lack infrareds. Which means the plant is much cooler than under other light. Plants drink when its hot. No roots + cool temps= plant wont drink abd wont have the nutes to sustain higher levels of photosynthesis.
Start your light high and bring it down a couple of inches every couple of days. As it gets closer you need to raise temps and maybe give it a bit more nutes. Any signs of plant distress: light green or yellow leafs, purple stems, magnesium deficiency etc, pull the light back a bit. Best temps for led grow is around 26-28°, or at least when they are well established.

Thank you ✌

Ok , i Turned down the Panels (each on 80watt)
And i Switched one panel off .
Maybe 3 days and than Switch back on? (=160w total)

And i raise temps to 26-27°C

Raise temps when you see the plants establish themselves. If you raise temps while they dont have enough roots then they will suffer.

When you increase light levels do it slowly, dont give them double the light over night or you will shock them, for sure. Have you got a light meter? If no you should really buy one, they are cheap.

What lights did you use to grow with? If youre coming from HPS its usually a bit hard to grow with leds first: with HPS its the heat burning the plant, with leds its too much light with not enough transpiration and nutrient intake. Its easy to underestimate how strong these lights are. You run about 20w per 1 foot doublestrip which give you a very efficient light which could easily burn your seedlings, but different then a heat burn. Light burn shows up like light green or yellowing leaves, mag deficiency, purple stems, droopy leaves, general deficiencies and not happy looking plants. And its almost allways due to bad environment as much as too much light. With HPS the plants are allways thirsty but with leds you need to make your plants sweat in order to drink. Read up on vapor pressure deficit and use this as a guide: opennlabs.com/vpd/VPD_calculator.php

When i say guide i mean dont follow it like a slave, but if your plants are having difficulty with environment then take it slowly in the direction the charts tell you. Also, top left corner: you can set the difference in leaf temp to the environment: HPS would ve around +3, leds -2 to 0 dending on lighr levels.

Yes i came from hps 400w .
And i think i have to turn down my exhaust fan
(550m3)
Temps now up to 23-24 at the Plants

I have a cheep Lux meter and app
(Left side skunk panel is off/
Right side amnesia cc light on 80w and 33 inches distance)
Luxmeter:
Left side 3500lux on plant high
Right side 8500lux on plant high

Last time feeding was +-30 hour ago
Rockwoll cube(small 1,5inc) and hydroton is Stil a Bit moist

Wow that is a big chart
Try to get into it, thanks a Lot for your help.

My vpd is 0,7 -0,76

Thtas a totaly new way of growing for me.
But i think i like it a lot
Remember you need to adjust the vpd table according to leaf temp; also never be a slave to any table telling you what to do, listen to your plants. Its better to take the vpd as indicating the direction where to take your environment when you plants arent happy, colder/hotter-dryer/wetter. Adjust a bit and see how they like it. When yoir plants are praying take note of temp/rh and try to keep there. If for some reason (summer/winter/rainy weather) you cant control your environment properly, back to the chart and adjust ;) happy growing

Also, its better if you try to get the same light over all the plants. Some of your plants are getting more than twice the amount of light, but both are drinking the same. How will they get enough/not too much nutes when one part needs twice as much?
My advice is to connect both panels to one driver.

I startet the other light Too( on 50w).
Now the skunk side has 8000-9000lux
And the amnesia cc side has 9000lux.
(My mother growth light tubes have 8000-9000lux)

The amnesia cc like more light than the skunk in the beginnig. The skunks have some burnig from the first day with 400w ,amnesia not.

The tip with vpd is realy awsome, helped me a Lot to understand my plants better ,specialy with led lights!

In veg (mother room) my double rows start out at maybe 3 feet away, before long, the plants grow into them.

Here she is 2 days later .
After a 400 ppm feeding of seeding mix .
My cheap ass Cantire LED lights touch the leaves on some .
No burn as of yet ...but that LEDs them selves are still 1/2 inch away in a protective tube .
Big growth spurt for sure but I hope to have them under 200 watts of HO t-5 today ,
Then 5 days later they will hit the big lights
