WARNING about shipping clones/cuts!

Do NOT ship USPS overnight by air!

All overnight packages that go by air are subject to X-ray examination.
The system is automated and flag's anything that looks like dry material and/or plant cuttings/live potted clones.
You can do NOTHING to hide these things.

Once flagged, all items flagged are dog sniffed! For any illegal materials - including drugs, besides bomb material.

This is especially key to legal states....

If you absolutely must go overnight... Ship only rooted clones in clone shippers and use FedEx!

RULE OF THUMB!

USPS PRIORITY GROUND ONLY! GROUND, GROUND, GROUND!

This is topic that's been coming up lately. And you are right, don't want those going through an x-ray machine..... I've been under the impression FedEx was bad for any kind of cannabis related shipping because they can open any box for any reason. Am i wrong?

UPS can too? I thought it was just FedEx, because of the Fed in their name. Maybe I've been confused?

A couple issues with this theory
1. no way is the postal service able to examine every package it gets millions daily
2. I have a bunch of elite cuts that prove someone wasn't too diligent in the priority mail area
I'm not saying it is smart but it isn't being checked like the op suggest

1- Will xray machines damage clones? I made it through an xray machine just fine not sure why a plant wont.

2- If the answer to no 1 is no then surely we could make a clone army to invade the world just fed ex em and wait for he xray mutations to kick in.

3 - I dont have a three but putting a third point anyway because i feel like theres somthing else i forgot before i smoked this doobie :-)

Are you sure about this? It's always been my understanding that the US Postal Service is not allowed to xray any package. That's why it is suggested to use the USPS.

Shipped a small package from one Alaska address to another Alaska address. Received a letter, as did the intended recipient, that the criminal investigative division in Chicago had a package they believed violated USPS regulations. They xray anything they want.

This was just recently and was the US Postal Service.

Edit add: this was using regular first class mail. It makes it in 2 days no matter what. No tracking. Not priority.

Priority dos not always fly by air! Non air shipped packages are not subject to X-ray unless they are being delivered to area codes 202, 203, 204 and 205. These are Washington DC codes. I have been told they also divert these to a facility in NJ to be irradiated before delivery to Federal agencies and government branch's.....

Sadly yes, this is true. Homeland set these expanded air shipping security rules a while back.
These only apply to the USPS as a federal branch of the Government.

FedEx, as a pvt company does not have to follow these rules. To put this to task would cost FedEx a small fortune. Being the smaller of the shippers, they haven't spent the bucks in anywhere but big cities and major flight op hubs.

UPS has been X-raying most packages for years!

Someone here, well respected. Attempted a cross country overnight of simple cuts. It was intercepted at the USPS postal center near the airport in question, by this method.
Tracking info was posted of the interception.

Being a third party "observer" in this. I was privy to info from the primary's.

I know about the X-ray's in distribution centers because, I had occasion to see them in action at one. I was notified of a damaged package containing a leaking liquid of unknown type.
They took the package and placed it in a heavy plastic bag and tell you to come pick it up there.
They don't know what the substance was (Birthdays gift of spices and hot sauces from New Iberia LA.), so they would not deliver it.
Once at the facility, they had trouble finding the held package.
I was escorted across the facility to a "holding" area near the actual X-ray dept. My package was in the secure intercepted area. I had to open and set out the contents in front of a postal inspector.
He was sorry about the broken hot sauce and resulting wrecked dry spice's also.

I took great notice of the goings on in the area. Asked a couple of benign questions about the if we were in danger from the "enclosed X-ray space" . Reply was no, and it's for outgoing overnight packages for security after 911. Basically put.

Later found that it's an automated system that flags packages from standing software parameters. Flagged items are inspected by dog, then by hand...

HERE IS A USPS LINK - Enter "X-ray' in the search!

http://faq.usps.com/eCustomer/iq/usps/request.do?create=kb:USPSFAQ&view()=c%5Bc_usps011510%5D&varset...

Basic search outcome:

"Some of the mail that is sent through the United States Postal Service will pass through an X-Ray machine. There are no specific guidelines as to what may or may not be x-rayed, though mail sent to or through larger cities is likely to pass through an X-Ray machine.

Note: Marking a mailpiece "Do Not X-Ray" will not forgo the X-Raying of a mailpiece, and may result in the item being considered suspicious

If you have additional questions about X-Raying of items, contact your local Post Office."

Here's the fun part --- They got the original software from UPS and have modified it from there!

I do NOT overnight ANYTHING related to our hobby!

Priority ground ONLY!

Line the package with tin foil?
Um, place materials in clean potato chip bags and reseal them (time to get that seal a meal). (These materials are first put in plastic bags)
This is also scent proof BTW...
Let them sit for 72 hrs after you have wiped the package with a dryer sheet. (Dryer sheet is more for peace of mind then effective. Dog's can smell even cannabis scents from simple handling for 48 hrs)

DO NOT handle cannabis during that 72 hr period OR Wash yourself with a good Shea Butter based soap and then package for the ship.

Your package is now scent free.

Ship by ground

Help me understand why my seeds or plants would be affected much by a general security x-ray machine. At such a low dose and tiny time frame of exsposure im of the opinion id be happy for fed ex to xray my goods.

I do understand the dangers but not sure it will have that much effect but im not too sure here :-)

Basically, not much of anything.

In classes or in lab work where we might attempt an exposure of radiation to plants or seeds to induce a reaction or change in coding
You used really bumped up powers!

The point is not effect to the plant or seed but, the effect on your freedom by shipping federally illegal materials through a federally controlled agency!

Keep in mind that it's illegal to ship cannabis in any form,,,by Federal law!

CYA!

What ever came of this? And if you were shipping within the state of AK, why is a department in Chicago involved?
