ISO is denatured alcohol.Denatured alcohol is better. But iso wont hurt them.
It also has menthonal in it. It has a completely different chemical structure. It's not the samething. Denatured is only 70% iso. The boiling point is also different.ISO is denatured alcohol.
ISO is not denatured they are 2 different things do not spread misinformation!!ISO is denatured alcohol.
Were you replying to me at the end there? If so I would hope that was common knowledge, and I never stated that it wasn't? It's the higher concentrations of Iso that causes it to damage certain materials, and also the higher concentration that makes it more effective at removing burnt shit off of PCBs.ISO is not denatured they are 2 different things do not spread misinformation!!
Denatured alcohol is ethanol with additives to make it undrinkable.
Isopropyl alcohol is a completely chemically different type of alcohol which is also undrinkable, but it doesn't have additives in it. 91% ISO is nothing but ISO and 9% water. 70% ISO is nothing but ISO and 30% water.
Your right , my badISO is not denatured they are 2 different things do not spread misinformation!!

Don't feel bad, I make my highballs with 2 parts denatured alcohol, 2 parts isopropyl alcohol, and 2 parts kerosene. It makes me think good for rollitup speakings.Your right , my bad

I've never tried denatured alcohol, I just know you can get a 16oz bottle of 90+% iso for like 99 cents and it lasts forever, it is what is recommended for cleaning electronics in the industry, and it evaporates crazy fast. Denatured probably works perfectly well for our purposes, whatever you're comfortable with. I don't know how long it takes for denatured to evaporate but iso is almost as fast as you're cleaning, so I'd be sure to do it in a well vented room.Well I have almost 2 years of running Samsung strips. And I clean them after every run with denatured alcohol. And have no ill effects on anything.
Edit: let them dry really good and let it evap before applying any power whatsoever to the leds.
Regular iso evaps alot faster. The only reason I use denatured is bc I have like 20 gallons of it from work. We use it to wipe aluminum down before applying thermal adhesive, paste, grease or whatever. And it's free. But it takes like 3 to 4 mins to completely evap. And it doesnt have that hardcore iso smell as bad.I've never tried denatured alcohol, I just know you can get a 16oz bottle of 90+% iso for like 99 cents and it lasts forever, it is what is recommended for cleaning electronics in the industry, and it evaporates crazy fast. Gotcha, I've got a ventilation machine for when I solder that I use for cleaning with alcohol, but for my 2x4 grow light I'll probably move that outside in the spring to clean it. Plus I used thermal paste on mine and some as oozed out from under the lights so I need to clean all that away, going to be tedious as hell.Regular iso evaps alot faster.
