Help me design

I have a couple of spare rooms and no roomies. I have picked a room in my basement thats 10x7 (think it was some kind of utility room). Im really growing for personal use for myself and to smoke with a couple of people who toke as well (NO ONE KNOWS THIS grow is taking place). I know it will be hydro. What light(s) would you suggest for this grow room? ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOMED. Im sure I wont flip the entire room but who knows...I LOVE TO SMOKE and it is dry as hell around here (two days with no luck ). I've only had regi bud and alot of dirt so I want the proper room to grow the seeds I am purchasing, maybe some Double Gum or Blueberry or something fruity. I got a grow journal of a 4x5x2 box I built in another room on here somewhere of some great bag seed I had.

I use it to throw the neice/nephew toys in when they visit. My nephew snook his head in my pic

What system should I go with? Currently have a DIY DWC and working on a DIY Flood/Drain.

I started preparing a small space under the stairs for a super stealth growth but I can seem to keep spiders and such out, so I killed the idea. This is in the same room Im gonna flip, the door to the understairs space is bout 3ft tall.

Whats the budget? how many plants? and do you want to use the whole room?

Well man you def have the room to do it in and thats good its in the basement.well man with a room like that there are so many posibilities and the ideas im gonna give you prob wont be what your lookign for as it would be in mass production. I would throw in 2 600 watt with air colled ballasts and i would use soil and hook a carbon filter up t the whole room in itself to a 6 inch 460 cfm vortex inline fan pulling the air from the ballasts and dumping it through a wall or door to another room after the smell has been removed via carbon filter and an ozone generator set up in the room oyu dump the hot air....and then use soil as with hydro you can run into mistakes but if youve grown before and used hydro go for it try a slab system or a drip system i dont like dwc btu thats a personal opinion and not based off my own use but others so it really doesnt count.lol
but yeah man you have alot of potential for that room and with what i said you could fit 30 plants in there each producing at least an ounce per plant.or jsut split it in half and split the 600 and change em to 400w rather and have a vegging room and a flowering room so every 9 weeks you can have a harvest done and jsut do like 12 plants 4x4 in a 4x4 area blocked off jsut make sure its ligth proff,but there are so many things you can do ya know.let us know what you do

Thanks for replying. Thinking of hydro for a faster grow and maybe a few in soil since I hear the taste is better. Whole room is available for use too. Thinking of half for Veg and Half for flowering for a constant harvest .
Two 600 HPS was my thought if that will work. Honestly I had not thought past the lights, odor control, and strains to try. I have a second room to vent into with no problem.

Starting Budget is $600 (I know not much). Already have Nutes (sure I'll need more), ph up/down, ph/ppm meter, clay pellets, rockwool cubes, distilled water, and timers (I think thats it)

As many plants as I can start with.

Alright with your budget fuck the whole hydro thing as that will eat up your entire budget almost unless you do it yourself which is good but it will still put a dent on your pocket.i mean so will the soil and pots but i dont know. I would reccomend jsut going straight soil and then moving on as your budget expands...with 600 you can get 1 complete light and setup preferablly a 1000W and get the one that can be either mh for veg and hps for flowering.then get the fan and a filter and that should put you at your budget limit bro. if not a little over and itf its a little over jsut go with the 600.that can cover a godo 4x4 area and that can fit in 12 plants through complete grow. then after you build up more money then expand by getting another light and making a veg rooma nd then doubling both rooms if thats what you want to do in the future.....hope this helped a little.
and this is for personal correct? then you may be able to just stay with 12 plants a harvest ya know that shoudl be enough for oyur smoking with some bomb ass bud.
what strains you pick by the way?

good man im glad i could help you a little bit. liek i said if you keep it to personal than 1 600w will do and then maybe invest in some t'5 flourescents for vegging later down the road....and im glad you got your seeds picked out man....when you get everything and built post some pics on here and let us see what oyur working with and how the design turned out and also let us know if yu start a grow journal or not.

According to the experts on this board hps can be used for the entire grow but because the metal halide gives off a different spectrum of light it is better suited for vegging than hps. with that in mind i would reccomend get a 600W hps for the flowering and a 600W mh for vegging.
