There was a driving simulator we practiced upshifting and downshifting on at the CDL school I went to. They had us do that and get the hang of double clutching before we got in the trucks and destroy the transmission/clutches.

Hehe, I float the gears now if I drive the day cab at my work (don't tell my CDL instructor), if I'm loaded heavy then I'll double clutch
