1. what kind of scale do you guys use to weigh in bulk? not like pounds but just after harvesting say couple ounces or something.

2. do you think it is pointless to weigh your harvest? if so why? i was just going to weigh for personal preference to see how much i get per harvest

I’d only weigh it once it’s dry that’s the only weight that matters. Also food scales and big bowls work fine until your doing more.

Weighing is definitely a good thing to do. You can compare how different strains yield, you can quantify how your yields are changing as you gain experience growing.

A good scale is a tool. Can even be used in the kitchen for cooking or for weighing packages you want to print a shipping label for. Good thing to have around the house. There are many cheap digital scales online, just avoid stuff with bad reviews.

A proper calibration weight for your scale is a good thing to have so you can periodically verify accuracy and calibrate it. The weight you need will be determined by the scales calibration mode, some ask for two different weights.

I use a 300g Digital scale.
i used to have a real good 300g, it got misplaced during a move and has never been seen since. Need to get another eventually

Ya im just using the food scale we already have here in the house, it will serve the purpose for this first harvest, i will be shopping for a new digital real soon tho.

Growing "success" can be measured 2 ways - quality and quantity. It is important to keep track of yield weight so you can compare that number to later grows. When it comes to growing pot there are hundreds of variables you can tweak to adjust quantity. You need to be able to quantify grows to really see what is working and what does not. I'm old school, I've been using some form of triple-beam since the 1960's.

Good luck, BigSteve.

I just use a cheap digital scale kitchen scale. So what if it's off a half gram or so. Gives me the info I need.

I had a jewler's pocket scale it cost like 20 bucks on amazon - it's small so you can't weigh everything so I used to have to separate into multiple buds and write down then add up.

those things last forever pretty much unless you lose it in a move like I did ....

:-)I take mine to the local supermarket, they got loads of scales round the fruit and veg isle, you can trust them thrifty bastards to be accurate to the last atom.

The best part is it prints your weight and you can sort of type in strain name as long as your growing a fruit or veg related strain like lemon or mango whatever
