Any news on the New Samsung strips?

Looking to start a build this spring and read Samsung is coming out with new horti strips. Any word on when? Will it be worth it to wait for them?

2nd this - I want to build a new lamp myself (the addiction is real) but I'd rather buy cutting edge if I'm already paying the Samsung tax.

Their spectrum isnt really proven for flowering: 5600k (afaik) + 660nm is still quite cold light. Maybe more suitable for greenhouse supplementation for normal plants.

Agreed. These new horti strips don't seem all that great for the indoor cannabis market.

Maybe they do fine, who knows until theyve been tried? Maybe for vegg? Ive heard 660 nm helps with branching and tops.

We have number 1-12 off the assembly line. They will custom make for us and white CCT with the 660nm reds. What would you guys like to see?

I see there are options for 2700, 3000, 3500, 4000, 5000, and 6500k in the little printed section on the strip, with a CRI of 80, correct?

Very interesting strips with the 660nm reds built in, watching with interest!

Those 5600k strips might be handy if you are into growing microgreens.
AFAIK they don't do well with the 3k lights most people use.

Isn’t the higher CRI’s advantage the added reds? Correct me if I’m wrong but this seems redundant if we could get better output with 80 cri and supplement reds to widen the spectrum.

Nice. Yeah, I'd be interested in anything from 3k through 4k, with the added 660. Now if we could get a little 630 tossed in the mix...

90cri peaks in 630nm + has a bit extra far red on 80 cri.
80 cri has a bit more output, especially in lux. Either way seems valid.
But there are very few decent 90cri strips on the market and none with extra 660nm. And is expect you could get away with adding less 660 to 90 cri which is a manufacturing benefit

Good info man thank you. And yeah, I’ve looked and couldn’t find any 90 cri strips that made sense for our application. I thought the vestas would be cool but then I learned they were two channel and I’d rather not deal with the extra mess of wiring. I’d be real happy with some 3500k’s and integrated 660’s like you first mentioned.
