First attempt auto & LST

Hello all

So I put an auto in a tent where some photos were vegging so they would all finish at once. This is my first grow and I already did a thread on the two photos at the back but this is focused on the auto.

I thought I would mess around with this one, almost as an experiment but it’s come out kinda cool.
I wanted to push LST as far as I could and i ended up with a gnarly lookin girl. Just wondering if she’s healthy and also curious if there is anything else I could do to maximise its yield. I’m open to anything because she is the experiment. But mostly a thumbs up from the people that know just so I know I’m in the right direction would be great.

Would be cool to see some of your guys crazy LST’d plants.

Expected yield?

Sorry forgot to say, she’s in her 6th week from seed.
But her lighting is whack so it’s hardly worth mentioning because of 12/12 and everything

heres my first attempt at mainlining a plant

all my others just got the standard 3 x toppings, they are just bushes lol
How much you estimate dry?
Also, that looks great. I’ll probably try that next time!

I also just ran auto for the first time in my flower room, auto dark purple by delicious seeds. it received 12/12 it's whole life and only got 24cm tall, it's in its 7th week and the buds looks great, just a pity it's so tiny! 20190219_200347.jpg

What lighting are you using?

:-)
Main lamp 200w cfl dual spectrum blue/white grow light then 6x 2700k cfl 70w bulbs to get those lower nugs cookin’. I forget what those little bulbs draw from the wall (actual wattage).

I know I should invest in a HPS or LED. This setup should produce a good few ounce though right? (Not on this auto obviously haha)

I've ran a lot of auto's in my day, more of those than photo's actually. Your girl looks just fine, LST'ing can help a lot or it can hurt a lot just depending on circumstances and how severe your LST'ing is. But your plant looks like it is responding alright, I'm guessing it's not getting all that big more because of the pot size than the stress from your LST'ing. Anyways, I wouldn't go any further than that with the LST'ing...or if you do, give it a week or two to calm down and recover. Personally, I bend mine over about half as far down as you did yours, and I do it little by little by little over the course over days or maybe even weeks. Auto's just don't respond well to sudden and severe stress. From this point, I doubt there is anything more you can do in way of LST'ing that would increase your yield. But I'm always interested in a good experiment :)

Also meant to add in, with bigger bushier auto's, it's hugely helpful to bend and 'tuck' big leaves out of the way for more bud sites to get direct light. So you can get the same affect of pruning those leaves off, without giving your auto the stress that would follow if you cut the leaf off of it. Hope I could be of help!
