hi I’ve successfully begged out three plants rqs Royal Gorilla , Special Kush #1 , Critical .
After a few hard weeks and a slow start I’ve successfully taking clones I’ve done 6 royal gorilla 4 critical and 6 special Kush four for a friend and two for me they’ve started to drool a bit but this is expected as they’re freshly taking two days ago I’m hoping for roots really soon if not I’ll be taking more with a different method all of my plants and babies are sitting under a 125watt cfl in a little propagation tent and inside a dome for humidity hope all goes well

They look good. You want high humidity, but you don't want to suffocate them.

For good cuts, usually 5-7 days for 4-6inch long roots, plain water and rooting powder, tray and dome.

Some cuts and strains may take longer.

Those are nice big healty cuttings! They should root within a week, two at most. You can't really tell until you notice either new growth, or roots showing!

In my experience with cuttings:

small cuttings - i..e two main leaves, and a top, with a fairly weedy stem - can take up to two weeks to show signs of rooting
bigger cuttings with a thicker stem can take under a week.
some can take a few weeks to show a root. I use rockwool and some cuttings show obvious growth but take an age to sprout a root, and then often, sprout many at once.

Long diagonal stem cut
Rooting gel (I use whatever is available. Organic at the moment)
Wet rockwool baby cube. I poke a new slit with a scissor blade. I don't use the seed hole. This way the stem is snug on all sides in the cube. This makes a big difference, and stops the plant stem moving.
Heated propogator.
Vents closed unless I have more than about 6 cuttings, in whihc case I slightly open the vent as the more cuttings, the more humid it becomes.
Never let the cubes stay soaking. Don't sit them in water. The stems and leaves will rot quickly.
Spray with a mister once a day.

I checked them today no signs of roots temps were 80 Fahrenheit which is a tad too high but other than that all the same is it normal for the stem to turn an offish brown before roots form ?

Might be too damp in there.

Far too early for roots at 2 days. p.s. 125 watts is more than you need. The more light, the slower the rooting process (or so I've read). I clone under a 40w CFL, at height.

pps, you aren't pulling them out to check for roots are you? The burried stem will brown

They may have damped off if they are too moist. That brownish thing is not good if it's happening at the base of the cut.

No I’ve split the rapid rooter to place it in ? Should I start over and take more just to be safe ?

Could I recut the bottom of the stem and reset them in different cubes or just start over with new cuttings ?

Probably not gonna work, the damp off is a fungal situation if I remember correct.

Id sterilize your equipment and start with new cuts. A heat mat will improve rooting speed. I do prefer rapid rooters for my clones, usually get 100% rooted.

Okay I’ll keep them anyway just in case and get some fotos later other than that I’ll take more cuts with fresh equipment and buy a heat mat

if you've got all that going on it may be best to take new cuttings and don't split the rapid Rooter, stick a shish kebab skewer or a small Chopstick in the hole to widen it but splitting it probably isn't great, also get some cloning powder or gel for best results some people use aloe.

Tip: pull little piece off a rapid Rooter and put it in the top with the stem to hold it securely if the hole is too big

Just been to local shop got new jiffy plugs formulex for the misting root it cloning gel instead of clonex which I’ve used .... only thing they didn’t have was a heated mat or heated propergator so I’m just Gna use my normal one and try again

Just checked here they are at seven days old with temps and humidity inside cloning tent

The look perfectly healthy. I'd not be opening / splitting them to look. You really don't want to disturb microscopic root formations.

Clones really are easy. It's just a patience game.

The main things to go wrong, and it's not hard to avoid:

1) Too wet media - damp to mildly wet it great. - too wet and you'll get stem rot. Very obvious - they'll fall over :-)
1a) media drying out - roots have no chance of forming!
2) Not warm enough. Cheapo £15 heated propogator works great. The warmth encourages root growth downwards, but also, keeps the air most - the cuttings have to take water in through their leaves until they have roots. Cuttings work in non heated props too - in a warm place.

That's it.

In a week or two, when you see roots coming out the bottom of the media, slowly start openign the vents each day, until they are fully open in about 3 days. Then you can remove the lid.

Quick update the clones I’ve taken the first set have just started showing first signs of roots at 9 days old I let off the misting for a few days to starve them a bit and they started producing roots I’ve also taken 5 more clones with jiffy pellets
