i know what this is
i just dont know why it happening
this is nutrients dropping out of solution

i am only using two products grow nutrients and ph down and i mix them correctly plus my res temps dont get hot its around 24 Celsius or 75.20 Fahrenheit
my water is aerated 24/7 and i change it weekly

i fill my rez/bucket with water (tap water in acceptable ppm range) then add part A mix then part B mix then adjust ph then add plant back to rez/bucket. i stopped adding calmag as i shouldn't need it with my tap water just yet

i can accept this happening if i didn't change my rez weekly but i do and this shouldn't happen in one week
this is not a consistent thing as most the time i dont see this when i change out the water

in a week i adjust my ph twice on average directly to the aerated rez with a few drops of ph down. doing this has never given me problems in the past . i even dilute my ph down with water before adding it to my rez so not to shock the solution with a big ph change all at once

last time this happened was about a month ago and i have not noticed it happen again until this week

i asked last time about this with no real answer to what is happening

is this nutrients just really shit or something or has no one got experience with it or am i not using the correct products

this hasn't had any negative affect to my plants but i dont like it sticking to the roots

I'm not sure what you're asking help with? What are the pictures of?

I mean nutrients are just dissolvable solids so you will always have sediments in your water. Are your plants looking sad? Dead spots on the leaves or anything?

Is there a sheen on top of your water in the rez?

If your roots are turning brown it is more likely root rot causing a problem. 75 degrees F is kind of high for your water temps. Ideally you want it around 68f to help fight off root rot.

That is just sediment, imo. I get the same thing when I run dwc. It is just the salts in the nutrients and if you are using rocks as a substrate then it is particles from that as well. I ran dwc for years and there is always that kind of stuff in the bottom of the bucket when I change the water.

This was my last dwc grow a while back and I used general hydroponics 3 part I believe and always had sediment in the buckets when changing water.

If you nutrients were falling out of solution your plants wouldn't be happy. So as long as your plants are healthy and roots are white I'd say you're golden.

ive grown dwc for about a year now and i have never seen this in such large amounts. i use rockwool and clay balls but i use them on top of my rockwool to prevent algae growing on the rockwool and they dont have any contact with the water so cant be contributing to sediment. i guess ill try convince my self its just sediment although i strongly believe its not that

i dont let it sit around before using it pretty much mix it and add plant with in 2 minutes after maxing
i use to leave it sitting over night but it never use to make any difference so i stopped doing it
im not 100% sure what you mean cementing up. do you mean going cloudy when mixing if so then no it does not

"When strong acids and strong bases react, the products are salt and water. The acid and base neutralize each other, so thesolution will be neutral (pH=7) and theions that are formed will not reactionwith the water."

Can you not collect magnify x200 and check for crystaline structure or as to what base the deposit is made from if you think it might be fertilizer/salt based.

One could narrow this stuff down with a lot of time or less if you have a lab and degree or even a lab microscope and a bit of a degree

i probably would if i had the equipment.
i have thought about ph down being acidic and maybe being one reason for this happening and shocking the nutrients solution but i water down my ph before adding it.maybe not enough
it is very concentrated to start with before i mix it 50/50 with water then add to my rez

when i add my ph down i do sometimes see a difference in the water but it disappears in seconds
does it happen instantly or over time for the salts to disconnect from each other and lose the structural bonds because if a strong acid influence

Are your airstones right at the bottom of the res with PLENTY of fine bubbles? I find doing this helps prevent settling of nutes. And I require less often res changes.

Part A has calcium and both parts have micros in it according to your link.

So, you're tap is likely the culprit, though if your plants aren't bothered by it, it's likely inert.

I agree with the above poster in that your tap ppm would be helpful, as well as your ppm movement over the week, up/down/steady.

Then there's your temps which play a pretty big role actually, but let's start with the aforementioned first.

my taps fine its not hard water but i find it pointless to discuss ppm because ppm is a shit way to explain things its 230 ish but im not 100% on the scale it uses it could be 700 or 500 hints why i say pointless to discuss ppm readings. i pretty much dont bother with it anymore because i know how much nutrients to add per letter of water before i see tip burn and i change it weekly so i see no point tracing its consumption of salts

Yea, that's where I'm at. Anything over 150 is hard water. Could be heavy metals, who knows.
