PH Tester?

Never allow them to sit in RO or distilled water both of which do not need testing before adding nutrients as they are devoid of minerals and can ruin the permeable glass probe by leaching the mineral salts out of it.

Best to buy the pre-made calibration sol'ns as the powdered stuff that comes with the cheaper pens can be influenced by the water used to dilute them and you can be using a pen that never reads correctly from the get go.

Buy a decent pen and treat it right and it should last for years. Should be detailed care instructions at the manufacturer's website tho they all need the same treatment so just do a search for pH pen care and any will do really.

Well man , i dont use this sponge..i dont trust it..
I usually have it rinsed for 1.5 inch in a glass of DISTILLED water! And i have another glass of disttiled water to rinse it into for clearing everytime i use it..
With this way i have it always calibrated..maybe once per month i check it and i dont have any issues..TILL NOW atleast!
I suspect you don't believe me lol?! ..so here's another very experienced grower telling you the same thing. I know you think the guys at the grow store are the goods but in truth we very likely have a lot more experience, but you do what you want, I'm just trying to help

Well i didnt say that i dont bilieve you..LOL!..

Also, when mine will have been stopped working,, i ll buy a 3in1 tester (ph-EC-temp)..
And i am betwwen Apera as you said, and Blue Lab..
What do all you guys believe is the best option for 3in1 meters???

APERA : https://www.amazon.com/Apera-Instruments-Premium-Salinity-Tester/dp/B01ENFOIKA/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=apera+Ec+ph&qid=1552885672&s=gateway&sr=8-3

BlueLab: https://www.amazon.com/Bluelab-716441-Combo-Meter-Germination/dp/B003PD2N8Q/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=bluelab+ph+ec&qid=1552885775&s=gateway&sr=8-2

I think i have already decided..
Blue Lab is a way more expensive, between these 2 products..
Apera also is much cheaper..
Does those 2 has the same performance and accuracy?
I dont want to waste my money if i can have the same results and performance from a WAY MORE CHEAPER product!

Till now APERA is my first option..

Do you have more info about this, or other suggestions?
I should tell you that i grow for personaly use..maybe this is an important factor which determine the quantity of usage of the product i want to buy!
I run 2 grows PER YEAR.. so the usage will be limited!

Thank you!
