Drying and curing (boveda 62%)

Hi guys, i am looking for some help regarding my drying time.
I am planing to dry my buds separately (cut from the branch) in a shoebox with some air holes poked in. The average humidity here in march is north of 70%.
How long should i dry them for before putting the buds in a jar with a 62% boveda pack?
Any suggestions for better solutions for drying are also very welcome. Btw the time consumed is not an issue at all.
Also I am wondering how long to cure my buds using the boveda humidipak.

If hang drying the whole plant is an option, that would be your best bet. 70%, just a light breeze around them.

Don't use humidity packs, so can't help there.

Hanging the plant is a better option. At 70% I bet they hang a full 2 weeks. Like @3rd Monkey said keep a light breeze.

When you jar put a hygrometer in there and check it like 24 hours later or something. If it's higher than 62 you can use a pack to get you there.

I used boveda when I first heard of them. Now I just don't need them. I have 58% packs in a few jars I'm storing but seems like some of the smell is lost with the packs. Maybe it's just me.

Dry for 10 days. Then jar it. You can use the boveda at that point, but they're a gimmick for the most part and more ideal for "long" term storage.

You can go longer, but once you pass the curing zone you can't re-enter it, so it's better to go slightly less than too long when drying.

I wet trim and hang branches for about 5 days depending on bud density. Then I cut the individual buds off of the branch and fill my mason jars 3/4 full. I check in about 6 hours and if the buds have rehydrated to the point of feeling moist I spread them out for a couple hours and re-jar. I do this until the buds still feel dry after being jarred for 8-12 hours - then I stick in a hygrometer to check humidity. If the reading is more than 62% after a few hours I open the jars for a couple hours and keep doing it until it stabilizes at around 62%.

That would be the RH of the jar, not the bud moisture. So you're just curing them in RH, not according to bud moisture. What would be the difference in curing them in a jar at 60% indefinitely vs curing the whole plant in 60% indefinitely?

RH and moisture content aren't the same.

When you say hanging the whole plant do you mean literally the hole plant? chop at base and just hang, pruning away excess veg before hanging I assume too or do you just mean hanging the whole plant but in pieces

I'm sure you do as well, I'm just curious as to how RH of a jar can give you specifics.

I often get criticized for hanging buds for 2 weeks, like the response above. "Bad advice" it's called. When, in reality, it's better advice according to the industry that regulates tobacco and cannabis curing. So, I was just checking with the people that advocate using RH to cure bud.
