Plant(s) Hermied, Now what?

First grow and at least one plant hermied (could be more I just haven't checked them all yet) and impregnated the other three. Depressing to say the least considering all the effort I've put in but I've come to accept it now. My questions are:

1. I went through and pulled off all the nanners I could find on the herm. Will it keep producing them? Should I just cut my losses and scrap the plant?

2. I keep reading conflicting evidence regarding the cause of hermies. Some say genetics, some say light stress, and some say both. Is there a right answer? I thought these were high quality seeds. If it was my fault with poor gardening, no big deal, fixable...if I got ripped off, no big deal, fixable. Just need to know which.

I'm growing in a 8x4x8 tent, 4 plants on about week 6 of 12x12. Noticed seeds about 4 days ago. Found some bursted and unbursted nanners tonight. What would you do?

Hey sorry for your bad luck man. From what I have seen it can be genetic or from stress.

Thanks man. It was the worst kind of hermie where the pods formed inside the lady hairs so I didn't notice them until the seeds were formed.

I'm going to keep the crop going and learn from this but I wan't to figure out how to avoid this situation in the future. Did I create it? Or was it the genetics of the plants?

You newbees need to complete all plants hermed or not. You did the right thing to carefully tweezer the nannas off.

It herms because of millions of years of perfecting a survival technique for the bad years in the wild - genetic, hell yer and you wont breed it out and its in every strain plant and genetics - lets say hardwired.

This is a challenge to you not mother nature dealing you a bad card - find easy to grow strains and this shit stops when you get better, simply removing plants aint gona make this go away and your no commercial grower yet, youll smoke that seeded bud and plant the odd one of them seeds or else your just gona kill your yeilds and learn nothing.

A futher note about marijuana genetics abd why we cant change much - it is (unlike plqnts that like evolution and start of a lettuce but end up a giant redwood six gabillion years later) part of mjs survival technique to have unshakable unchangable genetics and resist change thus staying the same plant whilst others change lots. Mj has shit hot strong genetics not weak and change it wont do but diversity it loves - will cross and cross and cross till the cows come home and why the same looking plant produces many different varieties of bud mmmmm mmmm

Some of the best weed i ever smoked had seeds. Theirs some dank out their with hermi traits
Yeah, I keep reading that. I hope that turns out to be the case here. They smell awesome, seeds or not.

I kind of asked this in my OP but no one has addressed it. Will the plant continue to grow nanners now that it has hermied once or will it adjust? I guess I just wonder if I need to constantly be inspecting for them.

I got couple of nanners on one of my blueberries last run and only found 1 seed in the buds. I trashed that plant but it was there for a bit with all the nanners. If you are sure they are impregnated there arent many options. Either cull them all or go finish your grow and pluck seeds out of the buds before smoking. Its a personal choice. I’d let them finish if they are close.

I be blazing seeded bud if i had none and couldnt get none - at some point peeps got way too fussy, first grow acting like a connoisseur like a few seeds is too good for you....

And then many have had seeded homegrown and loved that stuff, pick out the seeds and your just left with dank ass bud - here for the trichs anyway :-)

I don't think that's how I'm acting at all. I already said I would finish the grow and chalk this up to rookie moves. And now I have endless seeds for the foreseeable future. But I don't want every grow to be a herm orgy.

The problem is I don't know what I did wrong and therefore, not sure how to prevent it next time (I have ideas but won't know for sure until next bloom).

Seems like some people just wanna pile on instead of actually provide instruction or possible points of failure.

Also to answer about hermies there both right.

Genetics can make you plant more resilent or mote likley to herm. Genetics wont automatically make your plant herm (assuming we’re talking about feminized seeds). Herming is caused by environment and over stressing a plant. Whether that be with heat, light, humidity, over watering, High stress training etc.

Can you give us more information on your grow. Temperture throught the day during lights on and during lights off, himidity and feeding schedule we may be able to provide better feedback.

Much of my weed has seeds. I'm a pollen chucking fool. I can't do a grow without crossing something with something else. I do let a few slip by unpollinated but I'm addicted to making seeds. I can't quit. I need help.

Is there a support group for people like me?
