Parts for RDWC waterfall build

Not that I know of, get the ecoplus 594 and just use your shutoff valves to turn down the flow. I'd rather over size a pump than undersize it, cuz like I said you can control too much flow with the shutoffs.
Oh that's smart,I didn't quite get that before, nice! Restricting the flow with the valves won't strain the pump will it?

These unions are handy when you need to either replace a component or disassemble the system for maintenance.
Thanks man, yeah that's why I want to do it,it seems a wise move that could really saveyou from a future headache,I'd have never thought of it on my own lol.

This is good too incase you want to add buckets onto system later
True! Though I decided on a 3x3 tent in the end due to a 4x4 would be the exact size of the spotit would go in and I didn't like the idea of no wiggle room. I think 3 buckets is about as big as I can go for awhile.

So you put rubber grommets on both sides of the hole and just pushed the elbow through from the inside to outside?

Quick question to anyone: would it be a good idea to use aquarium silicone with the current culture bulkhead? Or would that be dumb and make taking things apart for maintenance to hard? Or can silicone be removed easy using a heat gun?

Silicone won't stick to the buckets. Not needed with those bulkheads they seal just fine as long as your hole is cut nicely with no jagged edges.

Sweet,thanks man.

The holes should be good, run the hole saw fast in reverse, then clean the cut with a deburing tool without removing too much material.

I'm also going use pond liner and some lumber to make a giant tray around the tent and farther out for the chiller, cause you never know if ole Murphy is around.

I'm looking into what I need to build a x2 5 gal bucket, x1 5 gal rez, rdwc with waterfalls into the 2 5 gal grow sites. I'm totally new to the rdwc thing and I'm having a hard time figuring out the types of piping/tubing needed, the elbow reducers for thewaterfalls, and what type of seals to use. I was thinking of having the 2 grow sites being the top part of a "T" and the rez being the bottom. These would be in either a 3x3 or a 4x3 tent under a 600 watt hid. I know thelines returning thewater too the rez should be 2", should the top feed lines be 1" into a 3/4" elbow reducer for the waterfalls?

Sorry for the newbie questions. There's lots of good pix of people's rigs but not many detailed how-to's with pix and everything written out.
Sounds like the kind of set up I just got done building bro. Have two superskunk clones starting to progress .
