Was a bit but did last run and didnt have any root issues, plus it help keep the water slightly cooler hence reflecting light I think lmao

No I'm not. But tbh I think I might need one, plant are growing nice white roots but the water temp is to high for my liking "78 degrees" . Fortunately I run hydroguard I like to think it keeps me from running into root issues .

I'm no expert,but I think hydroguard is why you're able to havegood roots with those temps. You lose the ability to hold DO quite a bit when you go that high.

It's got the same stuff as hydroguard but more concentrated and cheaper,haven't used it yet but other dudes swear by it.

How about you stop wasting your time with frozen water bottles if your res is outside of your tent..Get a pc fan cut 2 holes in the lid opposite sides of each other put the fan in one blowing into the water and there's your chiller I use ac infinity 120mm fans I got x2 of them for $20 they are USB does 3watts each only and 52cfm ea I have 100gal system just about for my bloom setup and 1600watts true power in a 8x4 and my temps don't go above 71f...And all cuz the pc fans does wonders as I no longer use my 1/4hp chiller it was nothing but a power whore doing 440watts and 4.6amps vs 6watts and like 0.02amps lol yes please......
Also stay away from danner mag drive pumps they are total trash ..They use the same housing from their model 2-model 7 pumps all the same intake and exhaust and them using fnpt for them is a joke...ecoplus mag drive series pumps is where it's at as they use male fittings and how it should be and their housings are better made and they change housings as needed as a 200gph and a 900gph pump shouldn't have the same size intake and exhaust like cmon now...However jaebo DC pumps are badass they have ceramic impellers so they are meant for salt water and hydroponics and have adjustable flow plus more efficient too ...
Home depot carries pvc orbit fittings and they are a must have I believe for hydroponics...They come in 1/2, 3/4, 1in and have couplings, tees, elbows, reducers, end caps...they do not need glue but most of All they are reusable and removable with a key...and the PVC pipe spins inside the fitting so attaching threads like on a water pump isnt a big deal and very easy to use and if you take one side off the other will rotate too and they do wonders...
Gorilla glue makes a PVC glue now as well it's clear and it has primer already in it so very easy to use and it's low voc so there's no smell...Ace hardware carries it that ive found local....
Also the orbit pvc fittings make sure it's the PVC ones they are white as they make a orbit fittings for PEX tubing they are black which is a big no no so PVC orbit fittings only

Still holding up, not a single leak or failure of any kind yet. Finished up a run last month and I have some time before I can do another run.
Sorry I didn’t clarify earlier, I meant system performance wise, I’m on fence about to replace some air disc or convert to waterfall
been looking at pentair air stones, they claim lifetime warranty in ph conditions under 8.0.
I think bubblemac was the stones I was looking at but $25/ea is steep since I need a few

Soon as i dropped airstones growth exploded lol confusion but hey if it works...
Flumes more efficient theory i believe is the bubbled pushed what oxygen the pump inserted up and out.
Did a study on flume vs airstones on thct flume was more effective but thauhht airstones wuda helped too

You vouching for the newer eco plus mag drives? I didn't want to get them, because most mag drives do seem like trash, and last time I checked the prices went outta site.. The regular eco's run top for sure.
