Is my harvest far away?

Picture number one is kinda blurry but looks really close, maybe done if it has swollen up. You could check the trichomes on it now if you have a scope. Maybe another week or so if it still needs to swell or trichomes are clear still.

The other three look like 10-14 days-ish.
I scoped the plants.... I agree the plant in 1st pic looks furthest along but trichomes still clear for sure. To be honest, plant pic #2 seems to have more milkyness than #1, also the leaves are fading a lot more on #2. Will trichomes all of a sudden change?

Usually they progressively change over 1-2 weeks as the buds actually ripen. Some plants will change very suddenly from reports I've read, but I havn't had it happen that way.

All the little differences in growth and phenotype is why the breeder times are so variable. In the end its really though to get it perfect the first time you run any strain. It gets much easy to know a plant once you run clones in the same environment.

I posted a thread in plant problems as well. I think I’m having an issue with my northern lights. I know I’m late in flower but she’s got super pale leaves with brown spots on some of them. To me, she looks like another week... at least as there are still white pistils, although some receding. It seems growth is slow although I really can’t be sure. I’m pretty much through 10 weeks of flower now. My other 3 plants seem super close. I have harvested 3 main colas off one already. I should note the 3 plants that seem further along have more green colour than my NL.... hmmm

I think its just finishing up man, I wouldn't sweat it honestly. Give it another couple weeks, and just watch it and make sure you don't see anything bad happening to the actual buds. The leaves will die off as the plant finishes up depending on all the variables with feed and environment. It should be sucking the last of the nutrients out of the leaves to feed the buds. They probably won't get much bigger physically, but will internally swell as it ripens.

Well that’s relieving to hear. I’m still confused though.... why are my other plants, that are for sure further along, more lush and green than my NL? There is quite the difference in the paleness. I didn’t make it in time for lights off pics unfortunately and I don’t want to turn them off to take any so I will try and do it right after lights out tonight

Also, I heard that NL shouldn’t take that long? Is that correct. I think I was told no more than 10 weeks really. Should I chop it this weekend maybe?

Who says cheap LEDS don't grow dank, im a get a few of those vipars
I have three of them ha ha, but I also have two HPS's running too now, so the LEDs are more supplemental, but yeah, the only problem I've seen with cheap LEDS alone is that the coverage doesn't go down far enough so I have to trim the bottom 1/3 of the plants.. But I yielded around 1/3 pound in my closet with cheap LEDs FWIW once I knew what I was doing with LST and supercropping... Having said that though, I'm upgrading to two more powerful HPS and will probably get rid of the vipars after that.

Yeah this late in flower that's pretty normal for me to see that, I usually get it worse ha ha. I think it's just the plant eating itself. I have noticed that if I accidentally let them get too dry in really late flower the crispy yellow leaves start to appear. I think in my case the container was really too small I was in. Of course the yellowing is good too right, because you should be cutting N.

I saw that post and DO NOT AGREE harvest time can be totally changed by your environment and growth conditions. Its very easy to slow growth which slows maturity. That same person said they have never ran a plant more then 12 weeks. 10-12 weeks is super common for any plant with some sativa in it at all. How long your plant takes depends on your environment and the phenotype of the plant you are growing. So does the feeding each plant needs. Your NL seems like it could be a heavier feeder then your other plants that's all. I've had plants that will eat ANYTHING you give them, and others that didn't need much.

In my experience, there are few strains that are properly matured in much less than 7-8 weeks(not saying there aren't any, but it's not as common as some people claim). Most hybrids really need between 9-12 weeks, and most full sativas need 12+. I've personally ran sativas to 14ish weeks. Also for reference, ALL of these times are based off when the plant starts to show flowers, not when it was switched to 12/12 lighting.

Your NL looks like it has 10-14 days left to me, and in that time its going to keep putting on weight, thats why its still eating, and using up the leaves. Its gorging on itself right now trying to fill out the buds for you.

That makes sense to me. And visually I can see it’s for sure early still. Thanks a lot thunder! You have really helped me out through my grow, very appreciative! It’s nice not worrying about the NL like I have the last few days lol

I'm glad I can help man. I don't know everything, but I have grown a lot of plants and done a lot of experiments over the years. I'm always glad to help a fellow grower when I can, and I really try to steer people away from some of the common mistakes. Cutting early is a huge one, and so is over worrying lol. These plants are all so diverse there is no one way that will work for them all, and figuring that out is a big part of this all. As it happens I grow all my strains the same way :), but that means some WILL do better then others. That helps me decide which will be best for my system of growing.

Yeah, I'm still just learning that I've been chopping too early for a long time... It honestly took me by surprise when I realized how much better it is to wait a lot longer than I was, especially since i was cutting out nutes way too early.

There’s a big learning curve to this hobby that’s for sure! I’ll definitely have my feedings dialed in better for my next grow. This forum has helped me out so much! RIU has got some great advisors, so to speak, on here. Just reading through other random threads has helped me as well and will be helping me for the next grow!

Yeah me too! Seeing other people's issues and learning from others is key... Helping others helps me too, but I hope my advice is good lol...

How close would you say I am on my other 3 plants? I already harvested the top colas off of pic 1 and I’m hoping it wasn’t way too early although it sure looked ready but that doesn’t mean much coming from me I’m still trying to figure out what I’m looking at lmao
