that's true. it's also true that one cannot provide aid to others if your own house is not in order...and our house is far from orderly.
it's very hard to throw a rope to someone drowning in a maelstrom while you yourself are caught in a tornado.
lets get a handle on our own situation, before we lean into another heavy chore with absolutely no sound footing
Spoken like a true conservative.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

i am concerned, really, that we aren't going to be in a position to provide aid to anyone, in the not too distant future...like 5 years or so before shit gets so bad we'll be wishing for the dustbowl....
weather patterns are already changing, and are not projected to improve in the foreseeable future.

I entirely agree the US should clean up its own house before meddling in foreign affars, but who is suggesting US support or “aid”

Lots of crazy horseshit in Europe. Just as you don’t refer to your country as the Americas, I’m not just in Europe, like Russia is too. NL fought many wars over the past ~1500 years to not be part of the UK, Germania, Spain (80-year war), France, Romans, and has historically been a safe haven of tolerance. Unlike in the US any display of nationalism and even patriotism has long been heavily frowned upon. Well, unless it’s in a soccer stadium. Facism and white nationalism in for example Poland, Italy, or the Ukraine is nothing new, but if it happens here of all places... where the most celebrated day is Liberation (from the nazis) Day and every city has a prominent WWII monument, where kids go on schooltrips to nazi deportation camps... all bets are off.

Anyway, by all means, focus on getting rid of Trump. The harder he fails, the sooner he’s gone, the better for the rest of the world. Which works both ways. If Front National wins in France, Fascists in NL, AfD in Germany, etc, Trump gains powerful allies and he won’t need the likes of Kim Jung Un to portray himself as an internationally respected President. Some worrying might not be misplaced.

Side note: Best remaining tourist destinations to get high without 15-20% chance the person next to you is a nazi are Amsterdam and Nijmegen. They’ll never move to the right.

Right wingers have difficulty recognizing anybody's rights but their own.
**One theory advanced as an explanation of this is that of group narcissism, which is described by historian and psychologist Jay Y. Gonen as one of the most important sources of human aggression: “In a world that is seen through a narcissistic tunnel vision, only oneself or one’s group has any rights.”**

From this article any Trump supporter here should read. Who knows right, maybe one of you fuckers will open your eyes and return to reality.

And Canada can’t help cuz we have our own little commie Justin to deal with.
Canada is already helping though, by having a welcoming and affordable immigration policy. Traditionally a popular place for dutch who want to move far away from nazis. And legalizing cannabis is just an open invitation. What’s the nazi-to-people ratio in Ottawa?
