That’s over 80% loss that’s kind of high don’t you think?
It was my first grow and harvest so I have no idea if that's high or not

Renfro up above posted that 20-25% was standard tho, so my numbers seem normal

I will say this, my drying room isn't where it should be and my shit did dry a little faster than I would have liked, but I'm still happy with 14.5 ozs from 4 plants in a 4x4 under 600w lol

The more important question is why are you weighing it wet? Lol just trim it up an hang it, no reason to mangle it transferring it here an there.
I have this drying process that I use that I like to split up the buds evenly per paper bag so I weigh it and then divide it up so each bag has an equal amount and an equal dry time. It’s just how I do things.

IME the denser strains are closer to 25% but most are closer to 20%. Also depends on how dry you like your bud.

I advise clothes hangers or string. I can typically get a qp on a packed hanger of small 6 inch ish pieces. I then count hangers and have a close total. 4 hangers a lb. 8 hangers 2 lb. You get the idea
I use @OldMedUser method in paper bags it’s probably one of the best ways I have found to dry weed it takes a bit longer but it’s amazing. It’s one that has worked well for me because I have my whole grow op in a 10 by 12 shed so I don’t have the ability to shut down my whole grow for the drying process I dry in paper bags in a rubber maid container dumping out everyday for about a week and a half then I just air them out after that daily then in about 3 weeks I move to jars I don’t have a mold issue doing it this way because in the back of my shed it’s about 60 to 65 degrees and I control my humidity with my lid on my container and it keeps the buds out of the light. So in a 10 by 12 shed I’m able to veg in a 4 by 4 tent then move to the main area for flower the to the back of the shed for a dry it’s actually a lovely little system I have worked out and the wife dosent yell at me for growing in my house it’s really like a man cave.
