Only things you should embrace when wet is you're women and an ice cold beer.Damn some threads just turn ugly.
Why weigh your buds when they are wet, would´nt you just get dissapointed when later on comparing to the dryed buds...
Oh gosh this is probably going to really grind your gears then -Ok, well hes opened my own thoughts to how horrible his advice is.
I dont know what you really know about him but you do you boo boo an if you wanna learn things the hard way then listen up and figure out the hard way. Green horns gotta grow up somehow I guess.
But I've been doing this a long time and while I still learn a lot of new tricks all the time, this isnt my first rodeo
How much less does a shitty low Brix hydro plant weigh after shriveled up into dust, compared to a natural high Brix organic plant, that actually gets you high? Some of you math fags get your calculator and see how a 26 Brix compares to a shitty 6 Brix like you all grow.
If a shitty low Brix aka hydroponic crop loses more weight due to being empty watery garbage, then what's the point of growing hydro again? So you can buy a brovida and pretend it's dank?
The fundamental process of nutrient absorption by plants is well established. Irrespective of whether nutrients originate from organic or inorganic sources, plants are only capable of absorbing nutrients in certain forms. For example, nitrogen is only absorbed as nitrate (NO3-) ions or ammonium (NH4+) ions and potassium only as K+ ions. Thus, plants do not differentiate between nutrients derived from organic and inorganic fertilizer sources.
I see that's called breaking down the dry and cure for the new dude on the block.Oh gosh this is probably going to really grind your gears then -

I can troll more of the info i write on thermometer placement, hermies, apical dominance, the cause of trifoliates, genetics....
I feel theres a block button you can hit to make the pain go away
A hydro plants total dry buds weigh about this much more! How much less does a shitty low Brix hydro plant weigh after shriveled up into dust, compared to a natural high Brix organic plant, that actually gets you high? That's fairly self incriminating my dudeA hydro plants total dry buds weigh about this much more!View attachment 4312276
Yes it is my friend, yes it is.That's fairly self incriminating my dude
Ive always found my denser buds dont loose as much wet weight to dry weight ratio where as the airy/popcorn buds weigh next to nothing when dry. Im always careful not to sneeze around dry popcorn buds or ill never see them again!Awesome looking !!
Generally, finalWeight will be between 20-35% of freshWeight, or a driedRatio of between 0.20 - 0.35
If you'd like to determine more-or-less exactly how much weight you will lose, do the following:
Perform and record this with every single harvest, determine the percent difference between 'finalWeight' and 'actualWeight' to figure our your error range. Eventually with enough trials you can either narrow this down, or account for it in your calculations.
- Take a representative nugger from the batch.
- Weight it, record 'freshWeight'
- Place that nuggie in a dehydrator, or an oven at 125F until it is as dry as you'd have it traditionally.
- Weigh it again, record 'dryWeight'
- driedRatio = dryWeight / freshWeight
- Weigh your entire batch, record 'initialWeight' making sure to weight it after trimming.
- finalWeight = initialWeight * driedRatio
- Once your harvest is finished drying, record 'actualWeight'
I've been doing this with every batch since 2012 (n = 72) and, for example, know that my Super Skunk has a driedRatio of 0.35 +/- 0.01. From the time I first cut my babies down I know exactly how much I'll have in the end.
Also, there are a number of factors that I've found that will affect the driedRatio.
Personally, withholding water has given me better results come harvest and during curing. With a new strain it makes it easier to eyeball finalWeight. None of these methods are going to affect the final weight, just the difference. Withholding water can however produce more potent flower, which is the main reason I do it.
- Density of the flower itself - more dense flowers will hold more water per cubic and have a lower driedRatio.
- Whether or not the plant was flushed - a substantial fresh-water flush prior to harvest will remove built up minerals/nutrients and lead to very slightly lower driedRatio.
- Withholding water prior to harvest - Allowing the soil to dry out completely or shutting off hydro/aeroponics for a period of time before harvest and allowing the plant to utilize stored water will provide you a higher driedRatio.
^ This post is incredibly fucking stupid. How much less does a shitty low Brix hydro plant weigh after shriveled up into dust, compared to a natural high Brix organic plant, that actually gets you high? Hahaha. Sure is Johnny!!^ This post is incredibly fucking stupid.
We prefer to be called 'small tent growers' or simply 'small tenters' and the science works for both grams pounds or plantation.I see that's called breaking down the dry and cure for the new dude on the block.
Tell me, am I new? No. I'm not. Is that for drying pounds or grams? Hmmm... I dont think its relevant but you do you. Micro growers are funny to me so keep making me laugh.
Please tell me more about science. I've never heard of the type of science you peddle. Is it like flat earth science? Is it like Christian science? Its it dubbed kinggrow science? We prefer to be called 'small tent growers' or simply 'small tenters' and the science works for both grams pounds or plantation.
Don't be insulting micro growers. Hate the player not the team. And like it or not, your a micro grower. Theres a forum here for people like you, its called micro grows. Your in the wrong section.
I wrote a thread on how to dry and your confused - does this now confirm how stupid you are, the thread and science was nay hard to understand and even noobs get it.Please tell me more about science. I've never heard of the type of science you peddle. Is it like flat earth science? Is it like Christian science? Its it dubbed kinggrow science?
I can see it now... 500 paper bags...
Science!!!
So how are those cfls working out for ya boss? And like it or not, your a micro grower. Theres a forum here for people like you, its called micro grows. Your in the wrong section.
Please you were all running round humping PPFD and comparing lights like fools - i merely dulled the hype down so the average grower didnt have to here his lights were shit in every thread and the constant attacks on hps plus cmh conundrums.Don't be insulting micro growers. Hate the player not the team.
He is infuriating though...LED blah, Blah, made up science, blah blah
