Nutrient Burn!?

Hello guys!

My AK47 girls from Serious Seeds 20 days in flower. I repot them 3 days before switching them into flower.
The Soil (from Holland) has around 1-1.2EC.
I waited around 3 weeks until feeding with 0.4EC base water + 0.6EC nutrients (GHE Flora Series).

Are my plants nutrient burned? I just got burned tips in my growers history and not even burned tips with total 1.0 EC.
Or maybe they have a deficiency/wind burn/light stress?!
I have a 0,64sqm tent with 4 CXB3590 Cob LED´s @240W and 30cm distance to canopy.

I appreciate your answers!

Cheers

Curious about this. Did you test that or did it say that on the bag. Is it referring to nutrients added to the soil?

The plants don't look too bad...so if there is a burn...it's mild. What Pulpo said about maybe Mg. That edge burning fits with that. Check your nutrients to see what Mg it has in it. Marijuana likes it's Mg.

without knowing the soil its tough to say.

My bag says 1-1.2EC. I live in germany and I just wanted to let you know that my soil is not a "coco infused" soil like in USA (i´ve heard It steals nutrients??!?!?!)

to me it doesn't look overfed it looks like K or Mg def

That sounds good. I also could´nt believe it´s overfed.
I have not that much Mg in my water. My tap has 1.4 EC with like 30mg/L Mg.
I just use RO water mixed with a remineral powder and epsom salt to get a good Ca/Mg ratio. It always worked perfectly. Ok now I use 240W Cree Cobs instead of 600W HPS.

But it´s maybe K ... I dunno...

I think next time I rather do what I think than asking in a german board. They always say it´s overfed even with 1 drop of nutrients:D
I watered today without nutes... Next time I feed with 0.8-1.0EC I think!

I dunno either. lol The K deficiencies I've seen are usually related to nutrient excess causing K lockout.

I've heard that the LED klights can change leaf transpiration and can mess with nutrient take up related to that. Hopefully you will get an LED guru to comment. I'm not one. But a tiny increase in your mg surely wouldn't hurt anything.

Missed this post. Not a bad idea. Drop the total nute regime but bump up the Mg. Worth a try and won't hurt anything.

And related to transpiration...you should be sure your relative humidity is high enough. Are you familiar with vapor pressure deficit. I am no expert but it related to what RH should be for a specific temp.

Yea man, LED is definitely different. The GHE Series should add more Mg and Ca.
Would u recommend using Calcium Nitrate? I could easily mix a high Mg/Ca solution (calcium and epsom) but Nitrate means more N. 1 Ca/Mg solution for the important flower weeks should be fine?!

FYI: Calcium Nitrate: 1g/L = 185mg Ca / = 150mg N
Epsom Salt: 1g/L = 96mg Mg
A little high N for mid/end of flower....

thanks mate

That's less then 1 foot. I'd raise the light too. Twice that high. Give then a breather...
My plants often have yellow leaves

Are light green tops an indicator of too much light? I often got this problem also with HPS. Thought it´s because of too less N in stretch period....

Guten Nacht

That thing is burnt bro...
I would back off on the nutrients

I have nutrient burn on my plant too....
You should probably flush it with tons of pure water....

K

I'd say K. Timing of when your getting it, plus the burn pattern on the sides of leaves. I'd raise light about 10in and inc RH and add K. Good luck! :bigjoint:

Holy fuck!!!! After watching that video, I think my plant needs more potassium. Got to bust out that Flowering Nutrients....
Ya I think a lot of growers are thinking they got Ca-Mg issues that are really K issues.

Also, the Ca-Mg products typically reached for in these instances are only regulated by what they market the product as. For instance in GH Ca-Mg they only print the Ca & Mg content on the bottle although there is tons of other shit in it. Ca and Mg are clear when dissolved in water (possibly white cloudy) but not black and opaque like you see when you pour it out of the bottle. Im guessing theres all sorts of shit, K included, so that if ppl are actually seeing results we can't really say what it was that helped.

When my plants get stressed I try to make it as cushy as possible for them, raise lights and inc RH till they start to recover.

I'm not sure what's going on with your plant, I'd say its root bound and overwatered possibly. That twisty leaf growth seemed to manifest with Zn def or when I have root issues or bugs. The plant is small and compact but variation all over so idk really, just some guesses.

K, Zn, S, Mn, all shit I've had to deal with before. I think its good to have these on hand ontop of the usual epsom and Ca-Mg.

Potassium sulphate
Zinc sulphate
Manganese sulphate

Hi Findus,
Didn't sleep too well and I'm not firing on all cylinders (sleep apnea)

The Chief may be on to something regarding K+. And remember that your soil is already fairly hot so alternate watering like you already are.. Some guys go water water feed repeat...also making sure to get them nice and dry in between. I 'm really no expert. Growing in coco right now and liking it.

You should have a game plan. Raise the lights. Lower nutrient load a little. Maybe bump up the calmag a tweak. Nothing radical and see how they look in a few days. With soil 6.5 ph seems to be the number.

I bought a little tub of mixed soluble trace elements. I treat it like fairy dust...just a little sprinkle now and then. For all those micro-nutrients that the Chief mentioned.
Good luck,
JD

Yeah, guys were saying that my plant is a mutant.
And yes it is root bound...

+ It´s damn expensive for what it is. I got 5kg epsom salt and calcium nitrate for 10€ and it will last for some years.

K, Zn, S, Mn, all shit I've had to deal with before. I think its good to have these on hand ontop of the usual epsom and Ca-Mg.
My Micro fertilizer includes the micros. But I really don´t know how much mg/L are needed and if it´s enough... I doubt it. But I never had problems with that (growing since 2014).

Some guys go water water feed repeat...also making sure to get them nice and dry in between
I think I will start with like 1.1 EC total and feed water feed water...

Alright chef! 6.5 is the number :) !

I will search for s.th. like this.
