Humidifiers & Laziness

I have to add more water to my humidifier at least once a day (and it's a relatively decent sized one for a small grow tent, like 1.1 gallon).

This is annoying me cuz it's hard to reach and fill it. Does anyone have any idea of like a diy solution that would save me from having to do this every day? Like a way to feed it from a larger reservoir of water?

There a ton of diy info here to get you going. But I feel like I should warn you.. .. If that thing has a filter you CAN NOT be lazy about sterilizing it. You will end up with bud mold. Check out the diy section for humidifier hacks and even builds.

Ok thank you i'll try and find something.

It has a filter, which I plan on replacing/cleaning frequently and I only run RO water in it.

I Literally just solved this problem. I too was in the same boat you are in currently. It sucks I know. This particular humidifier I assure you this will solve your problem.
Digital display, 25% - 65% range and 2.5G tank. I have mine set at 55% and I only need to fill it every 3 days. I'm very pleased and spend way less time worrying about my temps and time in general in my grow room. I included a link to the humidifier I am talking about and own. It took me 3 different humidifiers to finally find this one. It is a bit expensive but it's well worth it. Trust me. This is the answer to your problems.

Hrm ... enlighten me please, because i'm pretty dense. In fact I have no idea what either of those items are (led alone how to use them). One looks like a drill bit of some sort? lol

I've been hunting through the DIY subforum and on page 20 I still havn't found any threads that address this issue :(
A stepped drill bit and a float valve. Drill a hole in the tank, install the float valve and plumb it into your RO.

That’s the same one I bought. But I do the whole house with it.

Works great plenty of room for a float valve too.

Yeah looks like a nice humidifier but I already bought one (and can't return it because I've used it) and that ones price is way too expensive and also a bit too large for my small grow tent.

Thanks though, I dunno if mine is big enough to drill for a float valve but i will just keep looking for solutions. Thanks.

Carefull about putting a float in the tank. If it looses vacuume it will dump all over the ground.

Best place for a float is in the bottom tray if using a wick style.
