Yes I am using 2 inchs of clay pebbles on the bottom of the pot with the air domes. valves are working fine never had any issues yet. I have a submersible pump in my rez that keeps the water moving/mixed
From my perspective it looks like a root issue too.
The overwatered appearance is probably shock from going from weak lighting to strong lighting. As already stated.
The twisted growth lower down could be root rot, but inclined to think otherwise if you have air domes and well circulated res.
The domes could be drying certain section of roots out and its reflecting in certain areas of the plants.
I may be way off with that theory though but when ive seen specific parts of the plants damaged and weird its been because I have damaged part of the root zone (for me by staking through it)
The copper should be face up under the pot in the tray I believe. To halt root growth as it comes out of the bottom of the pot holes and touches the copper. I don't think that's related to your issue though.
I would turn off your pots and top water when medium has dried out, do that for a week. Probably worth sterilising the medium with h202 in your water as a precaution against rot.
Hopefully the fucked up growth resolves itself or dies off and your plant picks up a bit.
One other thing you can do is make sure your pump that is circulating water in the res is disturbing the surface as this will add more o2.
There are lots of folks on here watering multiple times a day with outstanding results btw.
