I'm working on some chips and boards. If you want kick arse red then the cutter 5050 pc red board is kick arse, it's not the highest efficiency but it's really good as it covers everything regarding red. I would go half pc red, half 2700K cri80 and the centre 730nm for EOD

Those Chinese companies are cheap, upto you there to take the risk, my advice is make sure it's cheap and you don't care if it is shit when it arrives

CMH is awesome. I'm going to be a while before I get everything sorted. It's expensive and if there is not enough profit it's not worth my time to bother. If I cant make $5 per board then I can't be fucked with it all. Doesn't matter how good or cheap I get it needs to sell to make it worth the investment I put into it.

You see what I mean when the math doesnt add up with this stuff?
It adds up to me let’s go into story mode..my brother was the one that recommended me to try alibaba I’m skeptical of any American online company so an over the pond company give me bad nerves. I’m conflicted because you are right might as well go super cheap if I get the high priced stuff and it’s rubbish....ok onto the story..back when my brother was in high school he used to buy designer shoes and clothes to sell to his friends. He went through multiple companies pushing bootleg knockoff designer brands. Then he hit gold..Interpol intercepted one of his packages and instead of saying counterfeit, the notice said unauthorized merchandise. He ran to the designer store to be checked for authenticity..to his surprise everything checked out except for the numbers missing. They would create for the different designer brands then once they met their quota they would continue to make product and sell it direct to customers. So a 3k purse was now 400...

Ya, I just take as they have access to quantities of resources that we don't. When you buy MCPCB by the ton you're going to get a better deal than if only buying 100 sheets haha
Pcbs are pretty cheap in China, it's not the pcb, they are doing something else to reduce costs, I think they are using shit chips or buying old inferior chips, something isn't right. I buy stuff really cheap over there but this grow light boards doesn't add up for me

Designer stuff is amazing how they rip people, it's sort of like a NASA led light.

PCB is my biggest expense aside from chips. They are creating 3030 for less than $0.01/ don't you think? They make the base for Samsung right? So they just finishing it out in their own way instead of shipping to have Samsung finish, right?

Samsung outsource the led packaging, they find the cheapest company they can in China to package for them. I have been to the biggest and best packaging company in the world apart from maybe Nichia and they told Samsung to fuck off as Samsung didn't want to pay the price for the quality. Multiple brands were having thier leds packaged at that factory but not Samsung, even LG were there, I was not allowed to take pictures of it all.

China has it covered regarding led packaging, the government invested billions of dollars into it. The top leds are expensive no matter the volume

If you Zoom in you will see the LG assembly line, I had to sneak that one in
That’s some cool shit, ok so boards LM301B vs lm56c. Is the efficiently that much better to warrant paying more. 14 dollar difference(just boards no red) but with the reds the lm56c have the cheapo epistar. The lm56c come with the Osram but at that hefty 142 price compared to the cheap 58. 100 pieces of reds is a shitload more than Addison toon all strips for cheaper price. Missing the far reds but don’t need to add additional drivers or strips to the frame

Your coverage depends on the hang heights, one way to reduce the costs would be just to have one row of the 5050 chips instead of 2. I'm not sure if cutter offer that option but they could definitely do it. There are some new boards that will be released that have far less chips soon.
