This is impractical and costly in cold climates. Pumping 200-300cfm of heated humid air out into the cold...plus creates a visible plume of vapor outside. The most important part is that the air leaving the filter go outside the house.
I have a small closet grow. What is the smallest filter/ scrubber and fan you recommend? Should I be attaching ducting to it and stick the ducting out through the cracked door so it blows outside the closet?Phresh and Phat make the best filters. I have some that I have had running for over 5 years non stop as scrubbers and they still work as good as the day i bought them, Way longer than any other brand I have tried including Can.
Be careful venting warm humid air into the attic, in cold weather it will condense on the bottom of the plywood sheeting and cause black mold. Not a good time.
So just to be clear if I was running a 4x4 and the plants absolutely reeked to high hell all I need to do is run a carbon filter inside the tent and just exhaust straight back inside? I live in an apartment building on the top floor and really want to start growing again but Im worried about the smell so I want to make sure I cover my ass before I start. I also want to make sure theres no negative aspects to doing this as well?A scrubber simply takes air from the grow space by sucking it through the filter and blows it back into the grow space. this way it's constantly re filtering the grow air. This really kills odor. Any odor thats left will be easier for an exhaust filter to finish off.
I have never used a small carbon filter but I can say that the best brands are Phat / Phresh.
I think what he means is to hang a fan/filter in the tent independent of any ducting. The purpose is to clean or "scrub" the air that is within the tent before it gets sucked into the exhaust setup. So just to be clear if I was running a 4x4 and the plants absolutely reeked to high hell all I need to do is run a carbon filter inside the tent and just exhaust straight back inside? Ok I understand now thanks.I think what he means is to hang a fan/filter in the tent independent of any ducting. The purpose is to clean or "scrub" the air that is within the tent before it gets sucked into the exhaust setup.
How big is your filter? It may not be large enough or contain enough carbon to filter out all the smell. I’ve always gone with name brand filters for this reason. They do cost more, but the peace of mind is worth it to me.Have just harvested latest indoor tent grow. Tent is 32"x32", three plants max. The smell permeated the house even though I have a filter and the tent is in the garage. The filter and tent are only 9 months old. Figure I need a better filter and need suggestions. My setup is a 4"duct and have a strong (I think) exhaust fan.
Thanks
