nope, you foliar feed when lights are on.
and by 2 sprays i meant spray once every 12hrs and it will usually fix your problem

Oh damn really? Glad I didn’t do it last night then. Haha. Why is that though? Every where else says to do it with lights off because something about “stem and leaves are in their most effective absorption period.”

i've never heard of that. i've always done it about 30 minutes after lights come on ON.
that article says to do it just after lights go OFF which i guess makes sense since the stomata are still open for a brief time.
interesting, thanks for posting that. so maybe best would be right after lights come on and then once more when lights go off. i'llhave to try that next time

Cool I think I’ll give that ago tonight as well! Far as an update though if interested changed my res with all ro water, knocked my ppm down to a little over 500 now so that’s good. Also come to find out one of my tubes for my set up (rdwc) wasn’t straight so it wasn’t flooding/filling correctly so a few buckets were not draining and low and behold one of the buckets is the plant that currently has aids. So got all that fixed everything is even and flooding correctly. Next move I was going to make was maybe through some epsom salt into the res to counter act the cal because I have so much in there to maybe even things out hopefully to help those other plants that are yellowing. Thought? Thanks!

Definitely picked the hardest set for sure but what I gathered is it’s the most rewarding, I’ll get the hang of it though I’m not doing it for profit so, it’s more for fun/personal use and the experience. Should I wait and let it drop more before I use the epsom or just go ahead and add a little now?

Guy...the ideal with hydro is when the plant is using water and nutes at the same rate...in which case your EC will remain unchanged from res check to res check. And that's a good thing.

i preferred a slight nute drop every day. how many times have you had a res never change EC in a week? maybe once for me.

I think my ec hasn’t changed much if at all during the changes I’ve made the water level definitely was Dow but the ec was pretty much the same or really close to it. Then again the times I changed it was to feed but then over fed so I had to change it out to lower it.
@rkymtnman i was going to foliar with the cal/mag just the few plants that needed it or should I do them all just with the epsom?

Sooo very much to absorb. It's really pretty easy after you kill a couple few. I think it's way easier than dirt. Get your feet wet.

I switched to hydro because it was killing my back lifting all those pots and bags of soil around. Now a $25 pump does all the work for me...
Plus it's fun...plus my weed is just as good...well no more plusses...

Do it at night like everybody else on the planet. Right after lights out is the best time.
So you dont burn the plants with powerful lights shining on the plant with the droplets of water. So the water doesnt dry up off the leaf with the heat from the lights too quickly .
I also turn off my fans for the during the time my plants have just been sprayed till they dry ...like an hour then I turn the fans back on. Give it time to soak into the plant. If thats the way to do it or if its how a plant can actually adsorbed the foliar feed or if its just through the stomata or not I dont remember but its what I do.

i also foliar feed at lights out but i've done it with lights on before just because its when i had time and its never been a problem. but if you can pick a time i'd do it at lights out.

so how do you foliar when you run 24/0 for veg?
that's my schedule and i've had no issues with water drop burn on my leaves when i foliar.
