Would 3 qb288s be enough to run a 4x4 tent? Im new to this type of thing and im wanting to grow some big buds!!! XD. Seriously though,would three be enough?

I've never ran Qbs so consider that. BUT personally I would want 4. It would give you much more even coverage. HLG sells the 550 light which is 4 boards and it is designed to cover a 4x4.

Not sure what to tell you. 3 total will light an area, but it won't be optimal.

. These boards aren't huge, even if they put out a lot of light I would rather not have to hang them 3 feet high just to cover the canopy. Thats a lot of lost head room when the plants start getting bigger. When I switch to LED its going to be for more even canopy coverage. I keep my 1k hps about 14 inches from my canopy, but it barely covers my 4x4 like that. The outer edges definitely loose intensity. I want to take the same 1k worth of LED and wrap it basically around my 4x4
. In the case of the OP there are lots of people that are getting results from the chinese QBS. Personally I would be looking at strips or bar lights.

strips or bars are probably the way for tents or smaller rooms. i havent used any yet, and this tent is my first experience with modern led, but thats my take on it so far. im happy with what im seeing from the 288s, but strips/bars customized to the tents dimensions would definitely have more even coveragelol 6 is what I wanted to say

Strips do sound like a more proficient way to get an even spread of light...lol 6 is what I wanted to say

A friend built one with strips. Used extruded aluminum for the heat sinks and spread them in his 4x4 tent. I would suggest doing it so you can raise and lower the fixture after watching him. But boosting the plants up is always an option. Samsung strips. His buddy made one but used a large heavy aluminum cookie sheet from a restaurant supply.

For a 4x4 I would suggest about 320 or 480 watts of strips. Really going to depend on what you want and what your budget is.

I want to go from seed to flower with whatever I put in there... What length for the strips,what size driver,etcetera... Boy do i miss nfhiggs right now!!! He had some nice setups... R.I.P. nfhiggs...

Scrogging won't change your light, it just helps you use what you have better. With a proper scrog you should have a beautifully even canopy, so all the better to have beautifully even light
.If lighting up a full 4x4 space with boards or strips you will want 400 watts minimum during flower. 400 watts puts you at 25 watts per square foot. You can get by with less light during veg. If going with qb288's 4 would be the way to go. The samsung strips mounted to aluminum rails are also very nice. What's your price range ? For flower you'll want to add some reds for maximum potential.
Most have seen these, but here is some flowers at 23 wsf.
Or 530 watts covering a 4x6'

Around $300 for the strips in the first pic, plus and extra $150 for the supplemental. Full power pulls 330 watts from the wall but I usually run the strips at 190 watts and let the supplements on full and it seems to do the best job since I'm just covering a 3x4 area with each fixture.
