Maybe i am impatient lol. So this is an auto. Early miss by cks (ww auto x big bud.) The time to harvest online was 7 weeks. I know that's not right. But I'm 6 weeks in as of tomorrow and I've grown a few bagseed photos before this and I'm thinking 2 more weeks at this rate should be about done. Or am I crazy lol. Oh I'm going for minimal amber trichs. I like them good and cloudy but the 1st signs of amber I chop it 20190506_161925.jpg 20190506_161102.jpg no jeweler's loupe yet so this is as good as I can get for now 20190506_161845.jpg

That looks to me like a minimum of 3 weeks. It is totally covered in fresh new growth, so it is trying to make fresh new buds for you still :). Don't be afraid of amber trichomes, I would much rather have some nice mature buds with some ambers, then immature buds with clears.

It is REALLY easy to harvest too early. I don't really believe all the "harvest early for a head high" stuff anymore. I have grown thousands of plants and lots of phenotypes of a bunch of strains. If you want a heady euphoric high, grow a plant that is supposed to have that effect.

The only thing you get from cutting early is less high, less yield, and less quality!

It is much harder to harvest too late, then most people will lead you to believe. I've never seen someone accidentally over ripen a plant. It takes weeks of ignoring your plants for that to happen.

Most plants follow a pretty typical maturation pattern. First the stigma receed back towards the buds, THEN the buds start to swell internally. The individual bracts will begin to plump up and look fat. Finally during this last stage the trichomes can be checked to determine exactly when you want to harvest. This ripening process usually takes 2ish-3ish weeks AFTER the buds stop growing outwardly. Some plants may do this faster, but it's not something where one day the plant is good and the next its overripe. It all takes time.

I learned years ago that there is zero advantage to cutting early unless you must for some outside reason.

The best smoke comes from healthy fully matured buds!
