As the title says, I’m an experienced indoor grower, been growing 6 years, I do well, 20-24 oz light in 8-9 weeks without much effort. I currently run 32 lights in my flower, I work all by myself. Except trimming. Tbh Im maxed out, I have no free time. It’s Not so much fun anymore. So I thought, why don’t I just move outdoors? I would Save almost 50k year in electric bills, have half the year off, why not right? Just up my sq ft. Easy right?
Except the part where I’ve never grown outdoors lol or been in a real greenhouse. As I don’t know how they behave.
So I got a budget for some greenhouses and land. I’m trying to decide the best route to go here. I dont want to do it twice.
Starting out I grew 1 per light trees in 30 gals of ffof, did sog 36 per light 4” cubes, dtw. I’ve always used synthetic salts, gh 3 part dry with cal, silica n bennies. Sealed co2 minisplit quest blah blah, jungle boy style pretty much.
So here I am, thinking what’s so different? More Bugs? Higher humidity? Condesation? anyways I would like to be as efficient as possible. And I’m rambling... So I was thinking...
I was looking at two 24x96 windtunnels w/ bracing, raised beds, here’s where I differ, do it sealed, I got several 4-5 ton mini splits, assume a quest required . (But co2 is issue with this) should I set burner to 500ppm? Or better yet use a 500 lb commercial liquid co2 tank to maintain some level co2.
What are common issues you guys see in outdoors, besides bugs n mold, I know I would need to be more vigilant about my pest control, but the co2 issue and raised beds concern me a little.
I would like to do 100-200 gal fabric pots and do trees with 4” square fencing around them but I would need a lot of windtunnels, or a commercial gable.
I think I like the commercial gable better tbh. Big TREES. All sealed with ac/co2. We’ll see....
Also I prefer coco/perlite mix 30/70. Not sure if I should use peat instead of coco.
I could follow sub cool soil recipe but I don’t want to change too many things at once.
Think I’m gonna put few outside just to see how they act over the summer
I know this is trial and error Work, I guess I’m just curious on what to expect. What differs.
Has anyone ever done or seen this?
Any advice or Positive input is appreciated.
Thanks guys
Peace love n respect
