RIU is my first home, so you guys get more than everyone else. My videos here aren't always the exact same as the ones I post other places.bongsmilie
I split a main stem at the topping point last year on an outdoor plant, just like that. I ended up putting it back together with a zip tie and super glue to be sure it wouldn't split further as the weight went on...worked like a charm.

Keep some grafting wax handy. It's like pine sap, safe for the plant, and it can prevent splitting. I do mainlines/manifolds with lots of training, and I have started using it every time I top. Just roll up a little pea sized ball (wet your fingers) and put it on the top and form it around. I also leave about 1/4" to 1/2" of stem when I top for the same reason. If you prune too close they are also likely to split if pulled. Cheers!

Edited - it (and you) will stick to leaves if you aren't careful ;)

Grab on to something, because this is going to be a fun one.
This is going to be one of the two strains that I run in the first comparison grow. The other is my Purple Urkle.
This seed will be the mother to those plants, as well as the PU clone for those. I'm going to use my living soil, and if this SIP tent turns out good, I'll do two 4x4's with 4 sips in each. When the Sky Lotus is done the games will begin.

Right now this is the line-up:
iLuminar iL8
HGL (4) 84x's
Amare Bar8
HLG 550 v2 Rspec
My current HID lights.
I should be busy on these for the rest of the year, easy. After the first comparison grow I'll have (3) 4x4's available, so I can run three at a time later.

Oh, the iL8 is going in the comp tent, so it's booked until that's over.

I say the hid against the hgl, because the hgl is spectrum based and it’s well known that hid has great spectrum. Just my .02

In preparation for the comparison grows I'm getting everything set up, Got the genetics going, changed up all of my ventilation, moved the grow room around a lot. Pretty much ready to go for when the Sky Lotus is done.
@Stephenj37826 is the Rspec coming? It's been a minute. I'd like to have some time to warm it up first and see if there is anything I need to adjust for between now and then.

Well, I don't want to pester Steve anymore, so it looks like HLG is out of the race.
I don't think Amare is sending anything, either.
Looks like it is going to be HGL (4) 84x vs. iLuminar iL8 non dimmed (dimmer not released yet.)
I just changed up my whole setup for the comparison grows. The iLuminar was going to be in the comp tent, but I can use it how I wish. I was going to run the iLuminar through the competition and start comparison grows after the SL finished in a couple weeks. Now I'm a little fucked. I don't want to change everything all back up for HID in the grow room and comp tent again, so can't start a comparison grow until after the competition which ends on July 19th. I'll run what I've got until then, then start the comparison grows.
