Realistically you shouldnt be asking what lights to use if your plan is to run a 2,600 sq ft room... because hopefully you would have atleast ran a 100 sq ft room, and this is like 26 of those.Yes lol. I’d appreciate advice not hate, but thanks for the comment!
Yes I agree, but its always good to hear other opinions. I was looking to hear what brands others had in mind.Realistically you shouldnt be asking what lights to use if your plan is to run a 2,600 sq ft room... because hopefully you would have atleast ran a 100 sq ft room, and this is like 26 of those.
And to run a 100 sq ft room youd know exactly what lighting you need.
But... what's your budget? For 31k you can use hps, and for 100k you can use led. There ya go.
Mars hydro makes good lights -.-Yes I agree, but its always good to hear other opinions. I was looking to hear what brands others had in mind.
I've been recommended to use Adjust-a-wing se 1000w. Was hoping to find something else more efficientMars hydro makes good lights -.-
Rocks painted with yellow circles and red ray's. Hang them about 18-24 inches above canopy for best results.I've been recommended to use Adjust-a-wing se 1000w. Was hoping to find something else more efficient
cheers mate@DoubleAtotheRON has a nice sized room with some LED lights you may wanna check out. I think most commercial growers still use HPS, usually 1kW Gavita DE HPS. In a room that size you might consider mixing in some 1kW CMH. I personally think that a blend of HPS and CMH is awesome. Nanolux makes a good 1kW CMH setup, I have a couple of those in my veg room. @GoBrah makes some very nice 1kW CMH bulbs that you can use in a DE HPS ballast so all you have to do is swap bulbs if you wanna mix it up.

Dont you think the 1kW DE Gavitas are too strong for the 8foot ceilings though?@DoubleAtotheRON has a nice sized room with some LED lights you may wanna check out. Depends on how tall your plants get. I have 1kW DE HPS in my rooms. My plants get pretty big. Yeah ideally they like to hang them high and let the light interleave to hit plants at all angles. I just work with the space I have and they do well. I do like to keep air moving between the lights and canopy.Dont you think the 1kW DE Gavitas are too strong for the 8foot ceilings though?
What distance between the light and top of the plant would you recommend with the 1kW DE HPS?Depends on how tall your plants get. I have 1kW DE HPS in my rooms. My plants get pretty big. You could definitely use LED but good ones will also need about the same distance from canopy due to light intensity not heat. If anything it's the 1kW CMH that needs the most space.
Enough to not burn the plants. What distance between the light and top of the plant would you recommend with the 1kW DE HPS?
LOL No I have not, but my partner has for years.Enough to not burn the plants.
Have you EVER grown before? I think that's the burning question here
You can be too close and not burning them, so it's not just about burning them. I don't know why you are being so mean to this guy. Smoke a bowl and lighten up (pun intended).Enough to not burn the plants.
Wow those look really good. Great work!About 20 inches is as close as I wanna get, 24 is what I shoot for. I do have REALLY good air circulation between the lights and the canopy. Any closer and I get chlorosis (bleaching) even if I keep them cool enough to not burn. The tallest buds in these photos are about 20 inches from the light. Thos few buds that are leaning over were a little closer before they started to lean, maybe 17 inches. lol

If you can't get really good airflow between the lights and buds then you will want more distance.

The bottoms of the floor joists are at 8 feet, top of the galvanized trellis rigs is at 5 feet. I do try to stick the lights up between the floor joists to get a few more inches. Kinda cheating a little lol.How high are your ceilings in that room?
