Just watched part of the new HBO mini series Chernobyl, I had forgotten how close the incompetent russians came to irradiating the human race and killing a large percentage of them.
I saw a video yesterday about another area in Russia that was actually much worse. I think there was a lake there, scary shit. Nobody appears to know how bad it actually was because of the secrecy surrounding the accident. They didn't initially tell people to evacuate.

There is a new push for nuclear power and the idiots running things won't stop till they've poisoned the planet. Fukushima is a slow moving disaster that they don't know how to fix along with Chernobyl. It's suicidal to allow corporations that are only driven by profit to run nuclear facilities, another accident is only a matter of time.

As with Chernobyl, Fukushima Daiichi, Three Mile Island, Exxon Valdez, Deep Water Horizon, etc. In order to gain public approval, corporations or government officials talk all about safety and all the sophisticated redundancies that make failure or spills impossible to even think of happening. After the disaster we are lectured on how nothing is 100% safe or it's not feasible to drive failure rates to zero.

I haven't seen the documentary on Chernobyl but the reports I read were chilling. Some heroes gave their lives to shut that thing down. RIP.

We can rest assured though. I have it on good authority ( @Bugeye ) that if we make this planet uninhabitable for humans, our spirits will move to inhabit life on another world. Like some sort of spirit-locust we can move on without learning a damn thing and devour another world. How is that for a convenient religious dogma invented by a right winger to justify insatiable, gluttonous corporations?

Like pipelines. There will be failures. It’s just questions like when, where and how bad.

29% of all present jobs are gig employment spots. 36% of people working work in gig jobs hold at least one more job.

40% of American families cannot cover an unforeseen financial hit of $500 while 65% cannot cover $1000. If 40% can’t cover $500 it’s obvious to a blind wino that this “miracle economy with record low unemployment” is nothing more than another transfer of wealth upwards. Any concerns voiced gets you tagged as a loser.

median individual income is $35,000 per year. That means half of everybody earning a wage makes less. Median family income is $55,000. The sanctimonious cry of "individual responsibility" rings hollow when more than half the people in the country don't make enough to enable saving for retirement, kid's education and healthcare. Wages below 55 k for a family of four are subsistence, not wealth accumulation. That said, MOST of the people who voted for Trump made more than 60k per year. Many of them aren't thriving at that income but their vote is made to keep the other guy down because they fear trading places.

If investing now, you should go heavy defense contracts/contractor..just saying.
Raytheon, Lockheed, and Boeing.

and because I love my peeps on RIU, my secret baby right now is Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. (BAH). Think defense cyber security. Get in now while the buy in is low with under 60 a share. The growth is about to explode You are Welcome

Cherry-picking arbitrary dates to paint a picture of a financial market is misleading. One could easily say that the DOW is also up 4000 points since December 24, 2018. All this means is that one should continue to sock away money in the market each month to dollar-cost-average their positions.
16 months. Not one point gained

Is dieseltech your other sock?

You should only need one sock, sock
You seem to really care about this sock nonsense. I thought you established I was MMG. I had to Google that and came up with all kinds of stuff. Then I learned it was someone here.

Very confusing. Maybe if you spent more time looking for ways to find a solid job and be less broke, you wouldn't worry about fictional socks online.

Are you at work today? Good for you if you are. Be Best.
