Well, I found out last night towlee and his friends are just a bunch of young high school kids, they just run their mouth because they don't know any better. His buddy 2legit2quit told me I was stupid and should quit posting just to find out he was trying to grow with a halogen worklight at his mom and dads house. How funny is that. I'm just going to try and not help the young ones from now on, they just talk shit, and that is about it. They shouldn't miss the help since they know everything anyway.

I kind of have a thing for fucking bad girls, and she fits that category well. What's wrong with that?

I don't want to hear her talk though, that's for sure.

so it would be better for me 2 lay this down horizontaly than hang the bulb straight inbetween 2 plantsa about 28 inches up???
 
Thats an insanely cheap price for an hps... not bad.. i guess.

Umm.. any idea if they ship to canada... ill check anyways.. and oh yea.. how much does it up the bill to use an hps?.. and whats the life like on this bulb?.. how many hours?
I'm currently using 5 27W cfls... and this defintely looks more cost efficient.

Your bill wont go up much if you are already using 135 watts right now. It may throw out more heat, but the cost will be the same.

I would suggest changing the bulb at least every 6 months.
 
thanks.. oh and what else do i need? say i buy the hps bulb.. i need the ballast.. and ?... where can i install that bulb.

Ok...here is the story. The light is $20.00US.
I ordered 3 and shipped it was $70.00US.
They come with ballasts and the lamp(bulb). Don't bother to think about a grow lamp because with a 150watt it's not too important. Heating is not that big of an issue since they don't give off that much heat. The ballast is easy to make 'remote'. I had a few extra wire nuts and some heavier wire so i just expanded the white and black wires to the socket. They do not come with a power cord, so I went to goodwill and picked up 3 computer power cords. When you cut them open the green is for ground and then the other colors will match up.

As I'm subscribed to this thread along with other people like OregonMeds, we get very annoyed when someone asks a question where the answer is in the post. I hope I helped by condensing the info a little.

So I just got my 150w HPS in today and through it together. I stripped the wires a little farther and electrical taped it up. I made sure that no wire was showing and did as clean of a job as possible. I am growing in my closet and could not think of any better method of getting the light to my plants. Here are some pics. They are in flowering as of last week. Any help/ideas with the setup are greatly appreciated. This is my 'for now' setup and I would like to fix it up, but haven't come up with any ideas yet.

O ya... I am also worried about fire obviously. I just used electrical tape around the wire setup. Will that be sufficient? Any help with this will be put to use. I heard something about wire screws. Do those help?
