Time to hold the Democrats accountable for not supporting them.
Social Democrats are a wing of the Democratic Party. There aren't very many of them so they work with moderate Democrats to advance their agenda. Without their help, Social Democrats couldn't serve their districts. If you want Social Democrats to succeed, vote Democrats in. Good luck getting cooperation from Republicans.

If by "hold Democrats accountable for not supporting" Barnies healthcare bill, his bill doesn't specified how it will be paid for. Also, tens of millions of people would be forced from their current plan that they like. That kind of authoritarian policy isn't going to fly with independents or moderate Democrats. It's a shit stupid plan and SHOULD go down in flames.

If it's so good, people would choose to make the move on their own. Why force people if it's such a great deal?

If you had "free" education and healthcare you wouldn't have Trump as your president.

If socialism scares you, be prepared for another 4 years of MAGA hats and banjo music in the White House.
But America DOES have socialism; we just save it for the rich.

Okay, so by all means, keep supporting the current system of encouraging the donor class to buy our political system.

I will not.

Single coverage.
If you meet the deductible, you are paying $12,000 a year for coverage.

The average income in this country is $35,000. Do you think people earning that much and have a kid could afford your plan? Recall that median income means half fall above and half fall below that mark. Half of all wage earners earn so little that your plan would cost them 30% or more of their income.

Average cost per person for healthcare in the US is somewhere around $10000. In Canada and other developed countries (UK, Australia, etc.) cost per person is about $6000 and statistically they have better outcomes, better overall health care service than in the US.

Just saying that we have a crappy, expensive system that costs twice as much and we still have millions of people without coverage.

I don't support Bernie's healthcare bill because it is an unfinished amateurish piece of shit. However, healthcare services are a good investment in the people of this country. Healthy people are more productive. Universal access probably means subsidizing healthcare for more than half of the population. It's not all about paying for everybody but also reining in on costs in this country which are in fact high compared to other countries.

I can cite sources if you like. Numbers vary from source to source but the ones I gave you are in the ballpark of how much we and others pay.
